I felt the earthquake - it was quite a long one, I wondered where it was centred, thanks Brittany.

:(

If something bad happens as a reaction to this earthquake,
anyone from Wrong Planet who resides in New Zealand are in my thoughts.

Stay safe.

Well, it struck off the coast of a place called Gisbourne. It's in the middle of the right side of the North Island (if you look at it like a stingray, it'll be under the right 'wing'). I was able to feel it down in Wellington (the ray's head) and it felt like a shake that was just a lil' bit stronger.

Yeah, bloody scary... I got to work in the morning and saw on the news wires "Massive earthquake shakes North Island of New Zealand, major damage reported" - not really what you want to see first thing when you're FROM the NI of NZ and that's where all your family are!!

Thankfully nobody was seriously injured, though an old lady did have a heart attack and die, which was sad. :(
