This is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard of this year. For those who can't be bothered clicking the link, yes, they DID inform the police beforehand.

that is terrible but what sounded weird maybe it was cause it was out of context was the part where they are shooting and the director says "please don't shoot, this is a movie." I dunno somehow it sounds all calm and collected where I'd be panicing by then.

I'm sure it'd more accurately be "Please don't shoot!! This is a movie!! !"

that sounds like my reaction of course being as far away from the bullets as possible. Its weird when I was depressed I wanted to die now I have an overwhelming fear of death.

Ahh. If I were in the mood to feel like doing it (not that I intend to), I'd probably be more scared about what would happen after rather than Death itself.

If you're afraid of Death as in, the hooded guy with the scythe, then heh, yeah I can see what you mean! Just remember what Rimmer did.

I'd prefer that to what Rincewind almost always does.

Rimmer is a character in Red Dwarf, a British Space Sitcom. When he dies, Death comes along, but Rimmer knees him in the crotch saying "Only the good die young!"

Rimmer is an anally retentive git with delusions of grandeur from Red Dwarf, though he does have his moments of greatness, and as KBABZ said, kneed Death in the nuts. Rincewind is a cowardly wizard from the Discworld novels, who runs away from virtually anything remotely threatening. Think of him as Shaggy from Scooby Doo in a wizard's outfit.

No, Rincewind is more prone to saying "Stercus! Stercus! Stercus! Moriturus sum!"

They then ceased their firing and promptly fled the scene without attending to the wounded who were taken to a nearby hospital.

Sounds like New York cops to me...

Didn't the police officers see the camera and the microphone they hold up over the actors?

Is it perfectly possible that they weren't cops? That they were nutjobs or part of the local mob who just wanted to shoot crap up?

I guess this means I should cancel my vacation in Sambila? Or learn how to say "Please don't shoot, this is a movie" in Bantu or Portuguese.

Por favor não dispare. Este é um filme.

Can't find my English/Bantu dictionary at the moment.

Maybe it was part of the plot to add a touch of realism - but nobody told the director so his freak out could be captured for the screen. Maybe the soldiers where actors and someone put real bullets in the guns.
