its a little funny and not surprising

but the saddest thing is that prostitution is recognized as a necessity to our style of society but getting "caught in the act" is penalized.

Perhaps he shouldn't have taken such a stand against such issues, if he didn't really believe in them himself! People love to see prominent folks fall off their pedestals.

I agree. It seems a lot of politicians say they are against something, to cover up the fact that they themselves are doing that very thing!

It is Mario Cuomo's son Andrew who is the New York State Attorney General and who was instrumental in catching Governor Elliot Spitzer in the prostitution ring.

In a number of countries prostitution is legal and regulated. I can't see why someone would resign over this.

He was one of the anti-prostitution people, made a career out of it from what I've heard. A lot of it has to do with the hypocrisy. Also, America is the land of the Puritans - at least until you get caught.

I think all politicians are crooks. Just goes to show you that they're usually out for themselves rather than the ppl. They always seem to make promises and then break them.

yep, Spitzer was really anti-prostitiution. Made his career off it. Then he spent 80k on one ( for multiple visits).

BTW He resigned today.

His entire campaign was based on prostitution being wrong.
