It's sad on so many levels.

How damaged do you have to be to just destroy someone you've never met, or even seen before? She hadn't even started at those girls' school yet. What put them in that place?
How damaged will this child be, and what will it take to restore her faith in humanity? Her ability to be alone outdoors? Her confidence in walking home in the dark? Her whole life is changed, and I don't mean physically. But that, too, is changed forever. As is her sister's life; her parents'; so many people.

11 years ago, I was ten. And we sure as hell did not do this kind of stuff!

I think the worst thing I ever did was whip a sixth grader with a jump rope cause he was picking on a first grader. In no way did I scar that kid, and we even became friends after that. After I got back from my suspension of course

So then... WTF has happened to kids in the past ten years? We got little kids plotting to tie up and stab their teacher, and now this! Some of these parents need to take a good long look at what they are teaching these kids, cause one day I'm gonna have to send mine to school with theirs.

That's terrible. The quotes in the article make it seem like her mother is a remarkably mature and insightful woman though. A good mother to have if a child is forced to go through something like this.


Odd, I wouldn't have thought something like this would be prone to happen in that area.

That's horrible! I hope that poor girl feels better soon. She definitely did not deserve to go through something so brutally traumatic!

Just goes to show how society is failing.

Thats really sick, although i dont think it shows society is failing - things like that have always been happening, all over the world, the human race in general sucks. VERY annoying how the older girl has all charges dropped - most likely the younger one who broke the child's hip will also be let off. Leniance in the justice system is partly what makes situations like this happen so often.

That really is "totally sick".
