The Phoenix has landed topic

This is really exciting.:alien: I just "saw" this historic event on Discovery Channel. The trip took nine months, like a human pregnancy. :) Very cold, at such temperatures ice turns into a gas (sublimation). :cheers:

I am watching the commentary right now, with Jay Ingram and the folks at Nasa and other involved researchers.

Watching on the Science Channel, live coverage - at 8:55pm Pacific time, they received confirmation of the landing signal. They're giving the probe about 20 minutes for the helium tanks to vent and the dust to settle, then we'll see if it landed in the correct attitude and the solar panels deployed properly...
