This happened yesterday a town 5 miles over from mine, I'd post a link but it only works because I have credentials for this paper because I deliver it.
TECUMSEH TWP., Mich. -
A Kalamazoo man was transferred from Herrick Medical Center to the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor after the two-seater plane he was flying flipped over while landing at Meyers-Diver’s Airport Thursday afternoon.
James William Nagel, 78, was attempting to land northbound on the runway when he lost control of the plane and flipped over near the end of the runway, Sgt. Daniel Rudd of the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department said.
A hospital spokeswoman said Nagel was listed in fair condition this morning.
Nagel told a deputy he was attempting to land the 1965 Meyer Aerocommander and landed with too little speed. The plane touched down on the front wheel first, causing it to bounce. As the aircraft started to slide sideways, it struck a runway light, breaking off a wheel and flipping the plane.
Deputies and Federal Aviation Administration investigators talked to a witness and viewed the scene. The FAA is continuing the investigation. Tecumseh police and firefighters were also on the scene.
