Propane tanked topic

This news even made CNN. 8O Usually no one hears about Canada, and only lately because of the grisly Greyhound murder.

I know the area in Toronto, as I lived near Jane and Finch, about 2 KM from the core blast area. Extremely frightening.

This could have started a firestorm, in slightely different circumstances. One firefighter killed. :( The evacuation was well organized, and looting was at a minimum.

Thanks for the info, Spudnews.

A man who worked in the propane plant was missing. They found a body yesterday but they are not sure who it is right now. I wonder if this missing person had any family or friends who were looking for him.

One fire fighter died.

Many other people were injured by falling debris, glass or burned from the blasts. Most people who heard the first explosion went outside or to the window to see what was happening. People were panicking and running in the streets carrying their children and babies. Many people just ran out of their homes with only their night clothes. Some people took their pets but others could not find them and were very worried about them.

The Salvation Army and Red Cross and city made a shelter for the people to go. The Toronto Humane Society also came with food for dogs and water for pets. Many people could not go home because their homes were too damaged and there is asbestos in the air in certain areas so it is not safe.
