Police reopen 7,000 cases after DNA error

Yikes...DNA science has become so universally accepted as absolute proof of guilt that all police have to do to convict someone is tell the jury that the suspect's DNA was at the crime scene... even if, as in this case, it wasn't...

Worse, it's in Australia. Not in the state that I live in, but in my state, Queensland, I heard that they have a massive backlog of DNA cases at the main forensic DNA lab in Queensland, formerly known as the John Tonge Centre. Judges have nearly thrown out cases because the evidence isn't there on time, but it's all to do with too much evidence, and too little manpower.
