Is that Kiwi iguana seriously over 100 years old? I didn't think anything except a turtle or tortoise could get that old. AND still get it on. They'd better keep an eye on the babies, make sure that the pair's aged zygotes don't allow for deformities... :?

Haha, they do get very old. They're gorgeous though, and they have a creepy third eye too!! 8O

I was so upset when they took the 5c coin out of circulation (they had tuataras on them).

New Zealand of course. :P

They're one of our many strange native creatures. Add to that the weird kiwis, flightless parrots, and now-extinct giant moa and Haast's eagle (google THEM for a laugh!!)...

Kiwi's are adorable. Years ago my Grandparents visited New Zealand, and they brought back stuffed kwiw's wearing these cute little hats, and mine had a dress.

Here ya go! An introduction to the weird and wonderful world of NZ native animals... the result of millennia spent apart from any other land or islands, without any predators on the ground, and without man around to interfere...

Neat! The tuataras seem fascinating. Alaska has no reptiles.

I really love Tasmanian Devil's and am concerned about their recent acute plight with facial deformity.

Agreed, Quatermass: And worse if Jack the Lad's mate happens to be a first cousin - tuataras incest? ......oh no 8O

Tasmanian devils are one of those rare creatures you find... so ugly and scary that they're the most adorable thing you've ever seen! :D
