Didn't read the news but saw one in the 1980s and
a friend almost built one to force himself to exercise.

It might be a good idea for internet computers too, if they
can hibernate (save data and stop) when you stop pedaling.
People can make 100 to 400 watts on a bicycle.

There is a joke where they gave a guy a pedal TV.

The next day they found him dead on the floor and the TV tuned to a cable porno channel.
