'Wipeout' under siege by 'Takeshi's Castle'

Now, after seeing ads for Wipeout (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wipeout_(2008_game_show)) on Channel 9 here in Australia, I was pretty certain that it was a rip-off of Takeshi's Castle, having seen that on Pay TV.

It turns out that the Japanese, coincidentally, agree with me.

thats nothing unique. networks do this constantly.

it may not even be appropriate to go as far as calling it a rip-off as there is a likelihood that it's the same people selling it.

apparently the aussie version will use the exact course the americans did.
