Excuse me if this has been posted, but I just checked Wiki and see that Anne Rice has not only turned Christian, but appeared on this chap's show. Apparently he's quite the Christian Conservative in the USA, and frankly, I'm a bit shocked. I've never been a fan of her books, but after making a fortune on S&M and Vampires, she goes over to being a Catholic ! !

Isn't it a sort of tradition with them , go out in your youth sin a lot do all sorts of bad things get religion back become reformed and write books ?
I personally think it's sorta wrong to fictionalize a religious figures life for money , that sort of thing bothers me a lot. I never did care for her vampire books.

Yes, that's quite so. Be as bad as you want to be when you're young, then 'reform and repent' when older. It's just that her work is so dark, it's like marilyn manson going straight.

Yup. I saw an interview with Rice and the pastor who befriended her. Never read her stuff, but understand it's dark very dark. I remember though reading were she said before she was a Chrisitan she had to sleep with the light on. Interesting I thought. So did her readers feel the same way?

I've read tons of her novels and it was a shock to me years ago when her husband Stan died, she reverted back to a practicing catholic. Oh well, no harm done; I bet she is scared of damnation!

I know I am.

But I hope I never become a sanctimonious self-righteous blowhard like James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, and John Haggee.

I guess I should have mentioned she says she's now 'born again'. Forgot that bit. So she's not Catholic anymore, I think ...

In all honesty, you seem too level-headed to ever have to worry about becoming one of those nutjobs.
