A self-proclaimed “prophet” has declared Donald Trump is the legitimate US president – and that the Pentagon is preparing a coup against Joe Biden.
Minister Jeff Jansen is one of a gaggle of US pastors and preachers who “prophesied” Donald Trump would overwhelmingly win the 2020 election. It was “God’s will”, they insisted.
When their prophecy fell through, many changed tack.
“The last defence is military,” Jansen told his YouTube audience.
“So the military … is in control right now. They’ve already made their determination. Now it’s about execution … There will be civil power restored in the United States. And that president will be Donald J. Trump.”
It’s precisely the sort of ministry that US intelligence agencies believe “will almost certainly” lead to more violence.
The report notably avoided mentioning religion as a leading form of incitement. Instead, it referred to “abortion-related”, “anti-government” and “racially or ethnically” motivated extremists.
Pastor Robin Bullock declared on YouTube that the combined power of “Christian prophets” would lead Trump back into power.
“Don’t mess with us, Satan,” he declared.
“Don’t mess with us, corrupt political regimes. Don’t mess with God’s people like that, because I’m going to tell you something: If you mess with us, we’ll call him back for three terms.
“Don’t mess with us.”

They need to be deported to North Korea, saying the same things they’re saying now (especially the Bible-belters).

Did you follow the link?

Ever since the advent of the "Moral Majority" back in the 1980s, the Far Right has merged its Leucocentric Nationalism with the kind of Evangelical "Christianity" that preaches "White Might Makes Right", and ""G^D, Guns, and Glory make America Great".

Does it surprise anyone that the preacher in the linked-to article is also white?

Now try this link:
How QAnon uses religion to lure unsuspecting Christians

To cite a few examples:

• During services in July, Rock Urban Church in Grandville, Michigan, played a discredited video that supports QAnon conspiracy theories.  "The country is being torn apart by the biggest political hoax and coordinated mass media disinformation campaign in living history -- you may know it as COVID-19," the video says.  The church did not answer requests for comment and has removed the video from its YouTube channel.

• Danny Silk, a leader at Bethel Church, a Pentecostal megachurch in Redding, California, has posted QAnon-related ideas and hashtags on his Instagram account.  Silk did not respond to requests for comment.

• Pastor John MacArthur of California, an influential evangelical who is battling county officials over the right to continue indoor services at his Grace Community Church, espoused a theme popular in QAnon circles when he misinterpreted CDC data and informed his congregation that "there is no pandemic".  MacArthur declined requests for comment.

There is even a movement, led by the Indiana-based Omega Kingdom Ministry, to merge QAnon and Christianity -- with texts from both the Bible and Q read at church services.

Unlike Jansen, fellow self-described Christian "prophet" Jeremiah Johnson, formerly of Jeremiah Johnson Ministries, recently apologized and admitted he'd been wrong about Trump getting reelected.  After addressing his mistake publicly in a series of YouTube videos, Johnson announced earlier this month that he was terminating his ministry.  He also raised concerns about the prophetic movement within American Christianity.

"I believe that this election cycle has revealed how desperately we need reformation in the prophetic movement," Johnson said in a video. "I have serious concerns for the charismatic-prophetic world that, if we do not wake up, if we do not humble ourselves, there is greater judgment to come."

White evangelical Christians have been a key base of support for Trump since his presidential campaign in 2016. Exit polls from the 2016 election showed about 8 in 10 white evangelicals voted for Trump, and the results were similar in 2020 with between 76 percent and 81 percent of the religious community saying they cast their vote for the former Republican president.  Conservative Christians have long been aligned with the Republican Party, as they are often particularly concerned about curbing women's reproductive rights and preventing the LGBTQ community from securing greater legal protections and civil rights.

I'm guessing Pence is in the last one.

If Trump is indeed "crucified", then he hung himself up there on a cross.

Trump once referred to himself as "God's Chosen One", and the belief snowballed from there.

The truth is that we cannot separate Republicans, QAnon followers, and Trumpsters from the Evangelical "Christians".  I have done my part in attempting to reform the "God Vote" in my church and community, but I feel that stronger language and total rejection rejection of right-wing political theology is needed.  From a purely Christian point of view, the evangelical leadership is composed mostly of false teachers teaching a false doctrine.  Trumpism cannot be defeated without first facing down modern-day "Christian" Evangelicalism.

Christ Jesus, whom Evangelicals and many Republicans claim as their savior, himself provided a warning against these religious hypocrites in Matthew 23:

Matthew, the Tax Collector wrote:
Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
The only real threat to Christianity is Christianity itself.  Leading evangelical pastors like Franklin Graham and Robert Jeffress made a passionate plea for Christian voters to ignore Trump's shortcomings as a man because he stands with the Christian church on all things that they believe are "Right and True; things like: Cutting off salvation to all queerfolk, abortion providers, liberals, immigrants, Muslims, women in leadership roles, and anyone who happens to mention taxing the wealthy.

False teachers have always believed that their financial wealth means favor with God.  I have seen many Christian leaders give praise to God for their big homes, nice cars and million-dollar sanctuaries.  This belief that God has blessed them with great stuff prevents them from ever understanding the need to fund programs that provide equality in the education, health care, justice and economic systems.

These false evangelical leaders may have stayed within The Law, but they know nothing about being merciful.  They could never understand the message to reach out to "sinners" because of Jesus' admonition that we are ALL sinners in the eyes of God.  They only understand the language of rules and law without mercy and grace.

I'll accept Trump as Christ when a camel walks through the eye of a needle.

Sigh yeah sounds like something that would come out of my home state. Tons and tons of conspiracy theory believing, victim complex-having Christians around my neck of the woods.
