I grew up in TJ, I live in San Diego now. Not everything you read about Tijuana is true.

If you really want to know what happens there, you need to learn Spanish and read the local TJ Spanish newspapers, though some of them are bias.

El Mexicano newspaper sometimes is bias, I prefer to read Frontera newspaper or ZETA.

caramateo I wasn't trying to imply that everyone in Tijuana was a criminal, I was just saying that there is a major homicide problem there this year in particular. Tijuana was had 740 murders so far this YEAR- yikes! I thought Louisville was a hell hole for having 60 so far

Here’s something you won’t read in any newspaper:

I stayed in Ciudad Juarez for a few nights in a major hotel there in 1985. One day when I came back to my room I noticed that some of my stuff was missing. No it wasn’t anything expensive; I wouldn’t trust ANY hotel to leave anything expensive in it. They had stolen my underwear and pajamas. No I’m not kidding. Who the hell steals some guys underwear. You can expect ANYTHING from people that desperate.
