Stunning. Simply Stunning. 8O

The cat faeces is insignificant when the parasite is also in undercooked meat. Something we are probably all exposed to quite often.

What's especially weird is that if you click on the "Dopamine hypothesis of shizophrenia", on that page there's some definitions, the last of which is "Delusions of Parasite infestation". The clot thickens... It says: "Delusional parasitosis is a form of psychosis in which sufferers hold a delusional belief they are infested with parasites."

But now they're saying that parasites are somehow linked to skizophrenia!

Perhaps the scientists in the article are suffering from "Delusional parasitisis by proxy"? Deluded into thinking that parasites can cause mental illness.

How would we know if we were ALL affected by mind parasites? Wouldn't those who managed to free themselves from the mind parasites be classed as insane by the infected?

Perhaps both cause the same symptoms, and both have the same treatment (not cure...)
Explains the crazy cat lady from the simpsons though!

It may be that anti-psychotic drugs work partly by parasite inhibition

I wonder if the "voices in the head" thing are really triggered by the, for lack of a better term, alien invasion of tiny organisms. That something about the parasites stimulates a part of the brain that has to do with hearing, or seeing, other people, in some way. Sort of like the way an electrical stimulus to a particular part of the brain can make someone see, hear, or smell something that is not there.

(Remember they used to think ulcers were caused just by stress, and then they found out it was actually a bacterial infection? Sometimes it's useful to rethink.)

Sh*tzophrenia topic

Another reason not to eat it.

But seriusly, handwashing will prevnet a multitude of infectious diseases that could lead to serious consequences. And the inevitable vaccine.
