Maybe it's my advancing age, approaching Alzheimers or something, but I'm beginning to wonder.
One of two things is happening.

1) We post the same or nearly the same subjects over and over , and I'm looking for my posts in the wrong threads,

or

2) Someone is deleting my postings. I've had several incidences where I know I've made a post, but if I go back a day or two later; bupkis, nada, nichevaw, nuttin'.

If someone is deleting my posts, I hope I'm not heading for a banning or something. While I may have a warped sense of humor, I don't want to tick off the admins...

sometimes I mentally/physically respond to a post but I do not send it. then when I go back to look for it I remember I closed the window without hitting send.

It's happened to me as well; usually when the OP has opened the same thread with the same title in several different forums, and I've posted in only one of them.

no, Pakled, you are not even on the radar of the mods. . .

I didn't think I was trouble...;)

Actually, I'd have to look for individual threads; but there have been some I've posted to, in Adult, Music, Current Events, etc.

Since I post a lot (well, not compared to some...;) I'm just sort of interested in if what I say gets read or noticed (ain't that pathetic...;), it's mainly idle curiosity, more than anything else.

I do the same thing in other forums at other sites, but it seems to happen here. I just think that if the comment was too extreme, then a quite PM by the mods would cause me to post fewer of that type...;)

Oh well, glad to see I'm not alone, tho...;)

It is easier to search your own posts if you click on your avatar and go to your profile.

Post off-topic

I have noticed this as well, but it is usually because the topic has been moved. But if a post went missing, I would have no record of it to check. :?

I don't think I can recall the last time any post was actually deleted. It would be rather a way back, when we last had a concerted troll/spam attack.

Generally, when we see spam, advertising, or straight troll attack threads, provided we are told early enough, we move the thread away from public view. They are actually not deleted, so it could be restored, if need be.

If there have been a couple of "replies" to such a thread, they will generally be buried along with the thread.

In your case, pakled, I can see that you have indeed "lost" two posts, last week. (Before that, one went in October 10th).

The two recent ones were posts you made on the 3rd Dec:

One on a short thread that was rather offensive (not your post), got locked and then moved away.

The other was an even shorter spam thread that went three hours after the spammer created it.

For your records, Fnord, you have recently lost a few posts:

Coincidentally, on Dec 3rd, but on a different thread, you (inappropriately, it seems) joined in on a thread accusing a troll. Your post went with the thread.

The previous FOUR posts you lost were all on Dec 1st, because you decided to post the single word "SPAM!! !" as a "reply", on the four duplicated advertising spam threads, which was of course, a very useful thing to do?
