Man they spoil the child rotten by catering her just to avoid meltdowns or tantrums whichever were which.
My mother never gave rats about me. Temple's mother made her follow the same rules as her family.

Quote:
She is getting older. She's 13 and her tantrums are louder and longer than they used to be. It's just so inappropriate. It was OK when she was much younger, but now that she's going to be an adult soon, she can't be behaving this way," Bilson says with tired resignation.

So why didn't they teach her a lot sooner? You don't wait till a child is older to start teaching them. It's hard to teach any child when they are older so it's best to start when they are very young. Sure things kids do when they are young may not be a big deal like lets say a child likes to pull hair and it feels nice and great but think about their future. They will get bigger so their grip will be stronger and it will start hurting, it will be hard to get the child to stop because you had let them develope that habit when they were young so because you all of a sudden decide to change the rule, it be tough for them to stop. So you better start teaching them when they are young to stop so it doesn't become a habit. Especially when autistic kids throw tantrums or have meltdowns and they aren't a big deal because they aren't loud and bad but think about their future. Would it be acceptable in society? No. Would they get worse? Maybe so it best to start when they are young to teach them and teach them how to cope.

I also feel sorry for the family because they didn't have the money to help their child when she was young. I guess their families couldn't give them money for their child's therapies. It's good they are finally getting help.

I also think she does this (Just from the way it looked in the video) because her family lets her have her way so she knows all she has to do is throw a tantrum to get it. We're smart just like anyone else so we can figure that stuff out too just like normal kids. We figure out how to get our way and when it works, it encourages us to keep doing it to get it just like normal kids.

I agree Spokane_Girl they spoiled her big time. They should have found out what was causing them meltdown, fixed the problem then made her follow the rules but instead they kissed their girl's rear and did the complete opposite. I know I sound like a b***h well I don't care I am pissed they blame the behavior of this girl on her autism which is not true its bad partnering grrr I am so miffed right now grrrr.

I would never judge another parent myself, as takes one to understand, as an asperger parent I know I have been so wrongly judged, as a child I have screamed out but no one understood or listened.

So much more awareness and understanding is needed before, many are accepted and just allowed to be, there is no fact in regards to asd. I feel very sad reading stories such as this, as many children continue to stay locked inside their only reality, so of course some will hit out in frustration. We all grow, learn and adapt however we are treated in life, but some are not embrace they have to fight to survive. And until everyone in society from a young age learns, accepts and understands diversity and difference many will continue to feel alienate in this world and not allowed to be who they were born to be..

Unfortunately so much crap, fad treatments and misguided information about asd, even those of us like myself trying to tell my story, wanting so much to share and give insight get attacked because of the politics, just being honest and telling it how it is, well my story that’s all I can do, one of may. We can only learn if we really all listen to one another, the struggle I guess for control of funds, autistic people feeling let down yet again seems to go around in circles, some of the parents suffer as much as those of us on the autism spectrum from igornace of others....

So no surprise when people become so angry is it because they are like many on the spectrum fed up with the confused messages, no real support for many children, let alone adults and often Autism becomes like a giant web and depending on what path you take, you get different advice, different messages and another blank wall... no wonder so many are feel lost!
