What's so special about the satellite? Does its orbit pass over Mecca five times a day?

with the current warfare going on i'd be worried about any country getting the possible means to launch nuclear weapons, then again after all these years saddam's weapons of mass destruction still haven't been found...

Iran hasn't launched an offensive war for over two centuries. No need to worry. It's just a satellite. It's not like they shot down one. ^^;

things change, two hundred years ago it would have been treason to suggest a scotsman would be the prime minister of england.

Ok. So which country will Iran attack? I can't recall Iran having any beef with its neighbours since Saddam was murdered. Forget Israel, they'll end up having their own six-day defeat. Israel probably has enough nuclear capability to destroy Tehran to rubble withing a couple of hours.

Strange, it's OK for a nation like Israel which is responsible for some of the worst human rights abuses and use of WMDs in war to posess nuclear weapons, but a country which has not launched an offensive war in centuries is deemed an international threat.

It's much easier to give money and weapons to small groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, then wipe hands clean of any wrongdoing.

And this I post in favour of a country (Iran) which prides itself in attempting to destroy my faith, obliterate its very existence. Why? Because it teaches that love conquers all hearts, and that violence creates only more violence. Simply put, I don't want to be biased - Iran is just not capable of waging war, especially with a 20%+ inflation rate, highest in the middle east.

Anyway, regarding war - You're all wrong. Nobody is right in war. Whether your Khomeinists, Zionists, Baathists, Democrats, Republicans, Maoists, etc, you're all wrong.

war isn't about who's right, only who's left ;)
the satellite could be for many different things but here's still a risk, it might not be for guiding nuclear weapons but it could be used to spy on local or international neighbours. they're suffering from financial difficulty like all of us and information on a common enemy might make them some money if sold to the right people.

Qur'an 49:12 prohibits spying. It's one of the worst sins, apparently.

Mmm, an Islamic Republic spying. Why am I not surprised? :D

Seriously though, what difference is it going to make, whether it's Google, Iran, China, USA, or Israel spying on you?

different people are allowed to do different things, the same applies for who's allowed to look at what you're doing whether you're a person or a country. i'd share my work at school with the people who were nice to me but as soon as someone tried to steal the information or someone i disliked tried getting the answers i'd have a problem with it.

the bible prohibits murder, theft, and adultery yet there are a fair few christians in the world that have done one of the three. it doesn't matter what a book says, people will mae the decision themselves if needed.

What I meant was, when it's discovered that it's a spy satellite, I won't be the only one laughing my ass off.

Both the Russians and the French sell some very good spy data, much better than the google version the US restricts.

The same was said when the Chinese went into space, and Sputnik paniced the west.

Real time information is more likely to stop war. Now almost everyone knows where the carrier groups are. The most powerful force ever is now a small high value target.

Anyone who launches an atomic war will cease to exist. They are too dangerous to be allowed to live.

Troops, trucks, tanks can be watched, air bases, and without suprise attack, are worthless.

Russia with short supply lines, 180,000 troops, lost in Afganistan, NATO is losing with only 50,000. For that they hold the capital, Kabul.

Truth is, war does not work. It costs hundreds of billions to start and run one, and thousands to make it fail.

The Iranian satellite will give up to the minute views of Afganistan.

America is sending more troops because Afganies fight in the spring and summer, and are at the edge of Kabul. Thousands of fighters are moving from Iraq to Afganistan, and many more are joining.

The Crusade is not looking good.
