Father of two Peter Wang says his young daughter is now traumatized after a visit to the Castleton Chuck E. Cheese's. "She doesn't want to go anywhere near the Chuck E. Cheese's." Wang said had gone to the restaurant to exchange a broken toy for his eight-year-old son Drake. Wang says restaurant manager Ken McGill refused to exchange the toy and then targeted several racial epithets towards him. Wang says McGill called him racial slurs. He says after days going back and forth, corporate officials with Chuck E. Cheese's issued the family an apology. But Kim Wang, Peter's wife, felt the apology was half-hearted. The couple also feels the chain isn't properly screening prospective employees like McGill. The Wang's did a basic criminal check online and found McGill was arrested for DWI and assault. They say police records also show McGill had a history of racist behavior involving minorities.

"This surprised me that a kid friendly place would hire him. It makes me question what they do in hiring people," said Peter Wang.

" I think we had to do something to get their attention," said Kim Wang. The family has filed a 5-million dollar lawsuit against the children's restaurant alleging discrimination and confinement. They say McGill ordered Wang to stay in the restaurant until he allowed him to leave. The Wang's attorney, Kent Roberts is meeting with Chuck E. Cheese's corporate attorneys Wednesday. Roberts feels the chain may want to settle the case. Roberts is also working on another lawsuit alleging racism and discrimination in another incident in January.

Elisha Gray says she experienced discrimination at the restaurant where she brought her son to celebrate his 3rd birthday.

"I definitely feel we were treated differently," said Elisha, who is African-American. "The fact we were the only black family that had to stand up and eat pizza."

Elisha says the manager, Ken McGill, wouldn't seat her family. Elisha says there were empty booths all over the restaurant but McGill refused to seat them at any of them other than two booths in the game area. " When I asked for more seats he told us if we sat down he would call the cops." And that's just what McGill did. Police who responded told Elisha she did nothing wrong. " They didn’t understand why he had called them to the scene."

No Chuck E Cheese is not racist, but at least one employee is. Why is that because one person does/says something that some don't agree with that the entire company they work for automatically becomes the same? Odds are there's a racist somewhere working for the American Government. That doesn't mean the US government is Racist.

Go go Sensationalistic News.

I'm not condoning racism, its an ugly thing. But Just because one manager says some racist things, doesn't mean that his organization is itself racist.

5 million dollars? Once again, just another get rich quick scheme by using the race card. While the actions of the Chuck E. Cheese employee are quite rude and unforgivable, the action of suing the entire chain because of this simply amplifies the fact that people like these are partially what's wrong with this world today. I'd even bet that if they do get any money out of this ordeal, they blow it in less than 5 years.

An employee made racist comments? Fire him and move on. But no, that's not good enough, you have to sue his employer as well as the company his employer works for, and claim "damages" for "trauma". What a great country we live in.

Never really liked that kind of food chain anyways =.= McDo is already bad enough without Chuck e. Cheeses adding tons of arcades and games + pizza. ><

I don't think the company should get in trouble for, just the employee.

Besides, racism isn't like drug screening. That guy was probably on his best behavior before getting hired....I've seen a lot of this kind of crap happen in "sucessful" job interviews with different outcomes.....unless there were red flags to begin with.

However I can see it being traumatic to a kid since they're in a place catered to children.....a place that's suppose to be somewhat away from the everyday crap that goes on daily in the real world.

Aside from that, I think Chuck E Cheese is way too expensive, especially for the quality for their pizzas....:eew:
