Yes and no. I wouldn't be able to answer because I don't really have a full understanding on NT's. The only plus part would be to maybe have a normal middle school life but past this I don't see really why I'd want to change. :?

+ I like my flaps lol

If I could be NT with one person I would, but not with the rest of the world. I've grown too accustomed to being in solitude. I almost like it now.

Well it would have made our child a lot less painful. And Nt's wonder why some of us spray a gymnasium full of Nt's with "magic" bye byes.

The tragedy is not the fact that a few bullies and middle income brats lost their lives it's the fact(very sad) that nobody learned a thing, I'm having imagery now of Homer Simpson glazed eyed in a semi drunken stupor "I haven't learned a thing " Marge now groaning

I call his a "September 11 moment."

Or the chickens (imperial in Sept 11's case) " chickens coming home to roost moment",

I've thought about this. I would love to be normal and function as a normal high school student. But the AS is what makes me, me.

Also I've read several times thy AS isn't bad, it is actually a good trait.

Yes of course I want to be an NT!! !! ! For most of my life I've been trained by para professionals and therepists to make me at least seem NT-like. But I still don't completely act like an NT to this day. There's always gonna be that tiny little part of me that behaves like an autistic. I want that tiny part of me gone for good. I can't stand feeling like people are making fun of me behind my back or hearing about my peers hating me for being "weird." And I absolutely can't stand the fact that I have to lie about my AS by saying that I have ADD and I was only sent to therepists when I was younger because my mom thought I was crazy. I don't want to be afraid to tell people about my AS, and the only way I feel like that fear will go away is if I never had it. I envy NT's and their abilities to be fully functional in our society! :(

If it made me have a life and ignore the general ignorance of the majority then of course I would!

I doubt I'd be ignorant to disabilities though if I kept my life the same throughout with my early speech problems (which are mostly fixed).

I like who I am but I would much rather be able to socialize, communicate, negotiate and advocate for myself the way others can and do. It holds me back financially and the biggest hinderance of all.

I wouldn't because I don't know how far I would have gotten in some things in life without being an aspie.

Why would I want to be someone other than myself?

No, I'd rather be an Aspie and have all my qualities I value along with having it than be NT. I have nothing against NT's though.

No than I wouldn't be able to come here as a wall person reading other wall people walllingly wall talking about their walls and their wall related matters.

Which suits me just fine , why would I want to go down your lane way anyways? aka a dead end.

I'm sure in the the last 40,000+ years their must be more than a handful of autistics who have had a long lasting and meaningful relationship,

Thats nice for them. 8O

Intereesting quandary.

I would say no, but it could be because I am high functioning (often called a genius for my memory retention.)

Point 1: think about how inattentive most people are. They can focus on so little at once.

Point 2: they are easily switched when they do get distracted. This can even be conditioned, a very poor way of doing tasks I think.

Point 3: They get satisfaction from people that they insist must have some form of difference to even be willing to be around them often.

Point 4: They can't enjoy, say, feeling flowing water, or the relaxing sound of a fan, or getting lost in the cool warped view of the world as seen through glass (I find reflection fascinating personally)

Point 5: Sexual tension. That sounds extremely distracting and frustrting to deal with.

Point 6: Emotional highways are extremely crazy for most non-aspergians...they have no logic backing their emotions often. So saddening...

Point 7: They can't be happy with a job they love or a special interest forever. I can be happy throughout my entire life with drawing, music (albeit in about 9 forms of interest in music) and outdoor recreation.

Point 8: Social status issues. It's such a joy not having to follow them so scurupulously. People really limit one another...

Point 9: WIllingness to say unpopular things. This is how revolutions start. This is how new art forms come into being. This is how philosophical ideas are shared. Yet most people are too afraid to just be different. It's pitiful.

Point 10: This is a mixed thought of mine...while it'd be nice to not be frustrated by a large amount of noise, sudden noises, uncomfortable textures, crowds, etc.; I think it means we just don't become desensitized as readily. It's how we can enjoy sensory experiences so much more.

No because I wouldn't be as intelligent without my aspergers. Although having a great social life seems fun...
