If you decide to tell them, good on you. You've decided to do something that I can't work up the courage to do. I tried to tell my mom once (showed her the papers and everything I had planned out), then she hit the ceiling, started crying, and threatened to call my sister... Cause everyone that has a sister that's 27+ years older than you is automatically scared of her. Right?

hey. you could try talking to a teacher or school counsellor first, especially if they know lots about asperger's. my parents didn't know anything about ASDs until my counsellor met them and told them her suspicions. after that, they brought me to a psychiatrist for diagnosis. so yeah, if you have a 'best friend' kind of teacher in school, tell him/her and I think parents are more likely to believe adults when it comes to things like this.

Just tell them, and if they are the kind of parents that laugh at everything you say (like mine) then look them straight in the eye (that always throws them off) and ask what's SO DAMN FUNNY!! !!

I don't know about you, but when I look people in the eye I feel more like deer-in-the-headlights than confidently confronting parents..... just me.
Also, looking them in the eye will reinforce the idea that you don't have it.
