Basically it means to preform a repetitive action with an object or body part while you deep in thought/stressed/trying to relax/etc. (different people do it on different occasions) Examples of relatively normal stimming include: cracking knuckles, biting nails, messing with cuticles and drumming fingers.
Everyone does it from time to time, but people with autism tend to be a bit more abnormal with stims and do things which seem very weird compared to others.
Personally, the stims of mine tend to include: pacing, messing with fingers/wrists, chewing on gums, chewing on knuckles and wringing hands.

I tink I do that a lot of "Stimming" actually. Espically when I'm in a good mood but in COMPLETE happy mood. When I'm thinking or bored I bite my inner cheeks a lot, I'm doing this while I stop from typing to see what I'll write next. People when I was younger used to ask me what I was doing while I was doing those things but now no one really pays attention to me in school to notice =\.
