I used to get called "big bird" because I was rather tall and acted "blonde" an awful lot. Otherwise it's just normal names that arise from my actual name - although a mate started calling me james for some reason, I think he just got it stuck in his head. Oh and I got called "stubbie" before as well (not as in beer, as in stubbornness, though I guess it's all the same...) but yeah..

Hi Bigbird. read my post about being Elmo. we have two of the sesame street crew here. we could sstarts our own apie-kids show... :)

Some idiot once called me 'pip'. But people who know me better than said person tend to insert an 'm' between the I and the last P.
Now, of the weirdest nicknames I've heard, none of them were my own.
I knew a kid who was nicknamed 'Jesus', 'cos he looked like Jesus. His yearbook picture was digitally edited to make it look like he was surrounded by glowing Godly light.
I heard of, but didn't know, a bald, overweight guy the whole school referred to as 'Buddha'.
I also knew a kid nicknamed 'Satan' because of his goatee and slicked-back hair.
Then there was one kid nicknamed 'Cheese', not like that counts for much. All I remember about him was that his real name was Cameron and that he was one of the popular crowd.
And this isn't exactly a nickname, but I knew this one really bizarre, learning disabled fellow named Elvis (That -was- his actual name....). He was really tall and thin and had huge ears, a pug nose, a butch haircut, and a huge, glued-on smile. He always talked like he was drunk and could bend his knees inwards like a bird. He was well-known for being a disruption to the class.

MindOfOrderedChaos has a weird nickname. It is an oxymoron, because chaos is about the opposite order.

I don't know if I even need to coment on any werid names I know of. Since its my name that started the thread.

I don't think im going to have much of a show trying to explain what my nick name is surpost to mean. It does mean some thing to me. Its surpost to mean how in some ways the mind can seem so ordered and in control and from another angle or prespective it can seem so chaotic. Also on the same note the Mind can keep jumping from one step to the next in a logical thought pattern that is completely unpredictable and pretty much random.

Ok I don't think I have managed to explain the name but oh well.

Oh, I'm also called 'goth' due to me once kind of being one... But it has stuck... I'm also affectionatly known as Morrissey, Robert Smith, The Cure or just plain 'Smith' (because the bands I like- it has no relation to my name).
I've been called a dictionary by some. But then your going to appear articulate if the people who you communicate with do not know what a pessimist is...

I love all of those artists! :D Joy Division, too.

I was talking about people who are on this site and their weird nicknames (which you found on this site), as well as why you think their nickname is weird!

In seventh grade my friends nicknamed me 'little Veggie' after Vegeta from DBZ, apparantly because I was short and (at the time) violent and bad-tempered. Unfortunately it stuck.

my friend will calls me "chops" or "ambrose" (as in General ambrose burnside)...and for a couple a days once he was just calling me "general".that didn't last

all of these are relating to the fact that I have huge thick and curly side burns

I used to be called "Benjamin Franklin Isaac Newton Singer" because
my name is Benjamin Isaac Singer and I'm known for brains at my
school.

I have a very unusual Italian surname, which has been subject to many a nickname, "The Banger" and "De Burger" most notably.
