*chuckles* Why rip them yourself when you can pay twice as much to have someone else rip them for you? Better yet, add another $100 and you can have someone splash them with paint, sew random zig-zag stitch all over the place and then call them Roxy! ;)

I like the idea of distressed jeans because they feel like they've been lived in. Its like stealing your brothers clothing, every tear has a story to tell. Although i dont own very many pairs of distressed jeans that thought makes me all warm and tingly inside :D. Clothes with personality and a story to tell y'know? (although i still think the prices are outrageous!)

:? It always seemed to me like buying deliberately inferior clothing.

Of course, I don't wear jeans period, so I'll just mosey on out...

I don't think that I could ever pay $50 for a pair of ripped jeans; it doesn't make any sense to me. I don't want to buy a pair of ripped pants, since I mainly buy them to protect my body from being cold. I used to wear ripped jeans back when I was in elementary school, since I played super rough in them and they ripped a lot, but not anymore. I guess that it's just my personality to make use of things that you spend your money on, especially a pair of $50 jeans.

This is exactly my problem. Where is the story if you buy them like that? The only story is in the manufacturing process. Normal wear and tear reveals something about what you do in them (painting, doing labouring work, getting caught on a rock). Buying them pre-ripped ruins all these stories.

I've been known to wear em, usually ripped up myself, but I tend to go overboard and end up showing half my lower body off, also sooner of later I start to get bugged out by their imperfection and/or lack of symetry... Something that really bugs me no matter how hard I try to look punky. I like worn clothes however, clothes with character, and have no issues with wearing second hand jeans that might have one or two odd holes naturally gained, in fact I prefer em since they're already worn in.

I like ripped jeans. I don't want to wear the ones with the entire knees cut out, though.
