Right, because being emo is a neurological disorder that they can't help  I don't think I recall ever seeing babies born with really bad shoe-polish hair and eyeliner. You can't go to a psychologist and get diagnosed for "bad taste in music." Comparing AS to emo is downright ridiculous.

YOU'RE COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT! You are being very shallow!! Honestly you should know better than to b***h about a certain group just for their hair and tastes in music!! Sure emo isn't a neourological disorder that they can't help but honestly if they want to wear their hair differently or listen to certain music who's business is that but their own? I'm saying you shouldn't b***h about them having "bad shoe-polish hair and eyeliner" or having "bad taste in music"! If you don't want to have hair like them or listen to the same music as they do, then fine, BUT DON'T b***h ABOUT IT!! JUST LET THEM BE!! ! Seriously has anyone bitched about YOUR style and taste in music?

Uh, yeah! And you know what? THEY'RE ALLOWED TO! *GASP*! We have the right to state our opinions on whatever we want! What, do you live in some country where noone complains about anything for fear of being "shallow?" Because I live in a country where if people don't like something, they make it known. See, I have something called "freedom of speech," and every so often I like to use it. For instance, I am opposed to the Iraq war. You could be too, but you probably just keep those thoughts inside so you don't hurt the feelings of anyone who disagrees. And that's just plain stupid. Do you want people to just walk around talking about the weather all day just to avoid arguments or something? I see emo music as a problem, and I want to make other people realize it is as well, so I say it. It's not shallow, it's called being a f**king human being who has a brain and plans on using it. It may not be a problem to you, but to me seeing the purest and more intricate art form being reduced to a bunch of powerchords and weak-ass solos that don't even follow any scale is a big problem. Pull your head out of your ass and cut the "holier-than-thou" crap.

Hey I'm NOT trying to be "holier-than-thou"! Honestly you're just as guilty as being "holier-than-thou" as I am, saying you're a "f*****g human being who has a brain and plans on using it" and telling me to pull my head out of my arse!
If I were you, I'd worry more about the rogue traders, as they're reducing music to guitar solos ripped off from classic rock and sh***y lyrics any 10-year-old could pull out of thier arse such as "baybeh baybeh baybeh, you are my voodoo child, my voodoo child" or "take me downtown so everybody sees, I know my moves like my ABCs!"
Other than that, I'll have to say you're right:

Quote:

Everyone acts if it's the end of the whole f*****g world if I say anything even remotely unkind, and I don't have anyone to stick up for me or back me up. And if you don't have anyone supporting you, then yelling at everyone for whatever problem isn't going to change anything. Do people respect you for speaking your mind no matter what? Because they don't do that for me, they just sneer, b***h about me then mock me, and as I said before no-one sticks up for me or backs me up, and I know that further complaining won't do any good. Yes I admit it, I'm a total pushover. You think I'm happy about it?

Emos are in effect marmite. You love 'em or you hate 'em.
I hate 'em. But I don't make a big deal out of it.
I'm sick of these arguments. They make me cringe. Cheerlessleader and Todd489 have gone a bit far in this whole thing, as well, I think.

You know, there are much more important things than fashion. If you don´t like emo style, just ignore them. No need to make a big show about it.

There was another emo thread awhile back, so it doesn't really matter. I'll keep my opinions on the fight to myself, as I'm afraid that it'll just set off another round, and it's really not my place.

I personally don't care. I don't like people who hate them without meeting any, but I also don't like people who praise every step they take. They're people. Thus, they are different. Ta-da, magic.

I agree. This whole argument is stupid because "emo" is just another dumb fad which will fade away in a few years just like glam metal or boy bands. Let's just agree to disagree on this matter.

Sure Todd489, having an opinion is great and good - go for it. But when your opinion is contrary to another person's, that doesn't give you the right to be a sarcastic prick about it. Fine, you don't like emo's, we get it, there's no need to be rude.

>> Right, because being emo is a neurological disorder that they can't help <<

No, but it's a way of behaving, a way of seeing the world and a way of doing things. Genes or choice is irrelivent, it's the way the person is. Tolerence?

>> it's called being a f**king human being who has a brain and plans on using it <<

Perhaps a bit more constructively next time?
