Afraid of driving a car?

I'm 20, my parents wanted me to take my driver licence when I was 16/17 so I tried and was pretty bad at this activity espacilly since I tend to panick and don't handle the various situations well (when I do'nt know what to do I panick and stop the car in the middle of the road).

Luckily I left for my studies (another city, 900km away from my parents) and stopped driving.

I'm still afraid of driving car and now I won't have to take my driver's licence until I'll be about 22. I know I'll eventually have to do it.

I really don't wantto drive a car. I hate how where I live there are no streetcars/subways and a taxi is going to cost way too much. I have a really hard time paying attention and remembering boring stuff (probably some of the traffic rules are boring) plus I'm forgetful, so I really truly believe that some monkeys would make better designated drivers than myself. I also don't like how it's a lifelong commitment and payment, you are forever paying for gas and to fix the hunk of junk, then the insurance for it. I'll probably learn someday but I don't know when that will be.

I'm not that afraid but everyone else is afraid of my driveing. I have bad motor skills *no pun intended* so everyone who has tryed to teach me gets scared and quits.

scared of driving..yes! my brother decided to teach me and my friend. first we just practised going back and forth ...after that we tried parking He had a dog and the dog tended to bark at the car .well it came my turn to park the car between two objects (like cones) when i went forward I was doing fine then the dog jumped up to my window barking like crazy i got such a shock that I took my foot off the clutch completely and drove ,(fast) over the lawn and nearly through the neighbour's fence.lol.It sounds funny when i write it here but it was terrifing and I have not got into a car since...
