Why do so many people wear ripped jeans? Its ugly. And cant they rip them themselves?

I like wearing distressed clothing. When you rip it yourself, the holes just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

I know someone who payed $50 for a pair of ripped jeans just to spite me for my hate of wasting money on clothing like that...my reaction was priceless.

The pants that I own that are ripped, I ripped myself. I don't see a problem with buying ripped jeans, though. When it comes to fashion, there are many more horrible things a person could do.

I used to wear ripped jeans...............back in 1989! I really can't believe that style made a comeback. :roll: Having lots of ghetto areas nearby, ripped jeans looks poverty stricken rather than trendy.

I wear ripped jeans. A fiver from primark, then you rip them yourselve then you look like you're from Manchester 1979.

The ripped jeans fad dates back the mid-eighties, when the lead singer of A-ha was rishing to the stage and got his pant leg caught on an amplifier's knob or something.

I have one pair of ripped jeans that simply have holes in the knees because I've had them for about four years now. The also have several other holes that I keep having to repatch.

I do like the distressed look of jeans, not necessarily all ripped up, but distressed. I think it looks really good.

i think they're really cool. of course, i wouldn't buy them like that! i'd just do it myself. then you can be sure that absolutely no one has jeans like yours.

of course, don't do a giant random hole in the knee, then you can tell it's fake - there has to be some fraying here and there...

I don't wear ripped jeans either, except for when they get naturally frayed at the bottoms. I just don't think it looks very nice, especially at school and church.

I don't own a pair of ripped jeans, and I think I'd avoid ones with big rips for one main reason: I'd have to shave my legs to wear them.

THE WHOLE POINT OF LONG PANTS IS TO NOT HAVE TO SHAVE MY LEGS!! !!

Well that and not freeze to death, but that only applies in winter. I will wear long pants on hot days if I didn't feel liek spending the extra ten minutes or however long it takes.

OMG I thought I was the only one who did that.... anyway. My guy friend once wore a pair of ripped jeans( he was trying to look "cool") and I had to politlely explain to him that they looked stupid...at leats now he wears differnet clothing and his hairs different. LOL. anyway Ripped jeans are really dumb.
