There are some days where I can focus in school, do all the schoolwork, go home and finish the whole week's homework, then there are days when I can't focus in school, and can't even start with the homework.
It happened a few days ago, I did all the week's homework that was assigned but today I just can't even start on tomorrow's. Even if I start it, I am unable to remain focused so I know it's not a procrastination issue.

The problem here is that there is essential work required to be done by tomorrow, inability to finish would result in an F, which I can't fix.
The only solution I see is skipping school tomorrow, do all the work on the weekend because I just can't do it today. Problem with that is that I can't ask my mother to let me skip school, she doesn't understand why I need to, and refuses to acknowledge the issue I have.

So I come here, I need to hear some suggestions about this, has this ever happened to you? If so, how did you cope?

Please respond.

To be honest, I can't help because I'm in the same boat. I have not gone to school for a week. My parents are in the process of moving me to a public school's special Ed program. Some days I can't even get out of the bed and when I do, I just paint my nails and draw.

Really I do, I have for the past 3 weeks been barely able to doing any sort of studying or do any of the assignments for all of my college classes which has now cause me to basically fail my first 2 midterm exams this quarter. The best I can say is that if you can't figure out a way to get out of going to school and you still have a little bit of time left shut yourself in somewhere else away from anyone and everyone and just get it done. Don't get up and do anything else until you are as close to finished with it as possible. If you have to turn what ever in somewhat incomplete but enough to get some credit, and maybe even beg for an extension if its necessary. Most people just assume people who procrastinate are lazy stupid people with no self control and that it somehow shows you don't care about life and whatnot and its total BS too btw, not that is any excuse to not doing work or being responsible either. Part of growing up is learning how to best deal with your weakness (ie procrastination) and how to overcome them.

Have you talked to your teachers about your dilemma? If you haven't already, stay after school or even go to school early one day and talk to your teacher about it and maybe even make up the assignment then. That way, you can be in a quiet enviornment and you have someone who can help you if you don't understand something on the assignment. . It'd make a big difference in your grade compared to if you skipped doing your homework, and your teachers would be glad that you came up to them for help and advice about homework/study habits because they know that you care about your grades. Just a suggestion. It works for me.

I've never asked for help in real life, I'm not even sure how to, I just picture in my mind how it would be a failure. I can usually manage my problems myself but this one is just too much to handle for me.
I'm absolutely sure the teacher would classify me just as lazy who is trying to get an easy way out of the assignment, which is not that hard but even if I try to do it, I just can't focus on it at all. Some days are different, some days I think to myself "Man I really want to play video games right now but those homework assignment are too awesome to not do them right now".
I'm not even sure if that's even an official symptom or something, but if it's not one of those days, my productivity levels are close to zero no matter how hard I try.

I don't think your teachers are going to say they won't help you. That's part of their job. I know how you feel about having a mental image of a failure in your head, I have those all the time. It can be challenging, but you've got to conquer your fear of rejection from your teacher. They understand that students procrastinate, although they don't recommend it. Or, if you're too nervous to go to your teacher, go talk to your guidence councelor, they never judge you about anything and they try their best to help students not just emotionally or socially, but academically as well. Give it a shot. You've got nothing to lose! :thumleft:

I've felt this way before. I mean really, who wants to sit down at a desk and do paperwork all day when they could be outside, hanging out with friends, or for that matter getting fit? School is pretty demanding.

School can be awful sometimes. In my case, the pile of homework is never ending. It can be almost impossible to get through it sometimes but sometimes you just have to force yourself through it. The best way to do schoolwork sometimes is by doing work for and hour and then taking a 15 minute break before returning to the homework. This will help you stay focused and able to get through the endless pile of schoolwork.

I get that, ALL THE TIME!...whenever I try to do my Art homework or my English Literature essays in class and at home, it happens- I just call it a "mind-block", except I always go into a crying/temper meltdown when it does. My teachers have finally started to pick up on it, yet it's been happening so long now that it affects my grades, and because of it, I have probably failed my GCSE exam in English Literature...and did so with English Language, too; luckily with English Language I excelled with the coursework I had previously done, which I had a lot of time to complete and got a B grade. Also, with Art I now have a tonne of artwork due in two days from now! I don't know how I'm going to do it all...

...so, you're not alone with that. :)
