I've been reading a lot of posts on WrongPlanet and I fear that I'll grow up to be that guy working at the gas station and whatnot (you get what I'm saying?). Yeah, I have assets, but how would I use them? Er...

I can write well, I want to become an artist, but I haven't really developed a style like other artists have, at least not one that people would want to look at in galleries.

Yea, I have a fear that I'll end up some housewife who is bored out of her mind...or on the street. I don't think I would allow myself to work at a gas station. Not that I'm pretentious or anything, it would just drive me crazy. Maybe I'll live in the woods....who knows? The future is very uncertain.

I don't know what is wrong with working in a gas station.

Nah, I have a feeling I'll be doing what I want or die trying.

Pretty much not my main concern right now.

I think everyone fears that; that they are not good enough. It's scary, but it helps when you can bond with people about it.

Yeah, tell me about it. I just hope I will be able to get a job as an engineer, eventually. If I do not, I kinda feel as if I'm not only failing myself, but also my parents and humanity in general. I have the potential; I have ideas, and I really want to see them put in place. There's only three things standing in my way: the economy (can't get a job if nobody is hiring), my relatively poor social skills (engineers work in groups), and my own laziness (I don't want to be like my older cousins and give up in school because it's too much work). The good thing is that at least engineers aren't really expected to have great social skills.

Oh my this is an issue for me right now....
Its been almost a year since ive graduated from school... and im only delivery pizzas on weekends...

I would like to be a tradesman but im having no luck with finding an apprenticeship... but in between looking for one i still question myself as to whether i even know if i would be happy as a tradesman... its really just a trend around here that if you really love surfing then you start building or plumbing an apprentice for a local so you can stay near the beach...

But gailryder you have 4 or 5 years on me that you have to think about it... i wouldn't stress about it right now...

If you can write well, have you ever thought about getting into journalism? I was a little involved with journalism for a few years in high school, and although I'm not considering it for a career path at the moment, it is rather fun to employ your writing talents in.

Since you're only fourteen, I don't really think you should be worried about this as much as you currently are. You're like, what, in your first year of high school? I've already completed my first year of college and I'm still not entirely sure what I want to do career-wise.

My suggestion would be to get involved with various extra-curricular activities while you're still in school.
