Anyone else really wanna sing but you can't because your voice is monotone? My voice used to be very monotone but I've been working hard on it; Singing my head off when everyone leaves the house, trying to use emotion just when I talk, imitating fictional characters voices as best I could (I actually have a pretty good Nico Bellic), one time I screamed when everyone left the house but I did that to release some anger and confusion, my voice was groggy the rest of the day, it sounded really cool lol. I really want to be a voice actor eventually so I am working hard and finding new ways to fix my voice.

Oh, one more question. Does anyone find it physically challenging to talk for an extended period of time? My chest starts hurting and then my throat gets tight, then I just completely stop because it is too uncomfortable.

i do talk with little emotion in my voice, usually, i can sing quite decently; but that might be partly becouse i'm a musician for almost my entire life, and have always been putting emotion in the music i make; i had teachers tell me that when i was 8...

as for the long talking; not really, though i do need to remember to breathe usually; i'm usually trying to finish the entire paragraph in a single gulp of air, something that's nearly inpossible, part of my musical training i think (brasswind), but the biggest problem in extended conversations is keeping the flow going; that's why i prefer to speak with groups of 2 or 3 others; takes the responsibility of keeping the flow off me

I don't show much emotion, but I'm not emotionless. Along with my plain inability to hit the right notes, my singing is REALLY boring. :( I still sing all the time, though, because I LOVE singing and music in general! I also commonly carry my ukulele with me just to strum it or play riffs. (I payed $100 dollars for a ukulele and want to get an accordion so you KNOW I'm weird! :P )

I don't even like the thought of singing. Something about showing emotion in my voice just doesn't seem right. Almost as if it feels unnatural of some sort.

I have been learning to put emotion to my singing and that actually makes me sound pretty dang good, sometimes I get carried away though haha

Just keep working on it, eventually you'll start noticing a difference.

try singing along with songs that actually make you feel emotional by listening to them; it is a lot easier to put emotion in music if you actually feel it at the same time
