Because I don't live in America, i really have to think about insurance and petrol costs so the car must have a small engine around 1-1.2 litres. I also don't want to die in a crash so i want four star EuroNCAP or above, only some cars that aren't over about 10 years have this. The car needs to be cheap, under £1500 or about $3000. It also needs to be small but not Smart small. There aren't many cars that are that cheap and come with all that.

After a lot of searching on autotrader.co.uk, i found what i think will be my first car. The car's a Peugeot 206, it's girly but not too girly. If i'm lucky i might get one with a really big sun roof, yeah 8) !

Also if you have ever driven a peugeot 206 on either Colin Mcraye Rally 2 or Granturismo2/3 you will know that it handles like a dream, quick for it's class and really responsive steering. Another reason for my conclusion.

why not a old volvo or BMW they still run and will be good cars to start. My dad owns a used european car dealership in the US. My first car will most likly be a Saab 900 one of the old ones.

One which has a working engine and four wheels. And preferably doesn't use too much petrol.

Although I don't intend to drive at all as I have a feeling I will find it very difficult.

I'd absolutely adore a classic mini coper, well looked after and with a union flag on the roof...

I can but dream I guess.

Volvo rules.

But my first will likely be an old diesel Mercedes. Dad's a motor-freak. He collects old vehicles. He's most proud of the '47 Nash right now.

I was thinking of a Nissan 350Z, or perhaps a Honda motorcycle (though technically not car, still a motor vehicle), but I guess time will tell. :D

Trust me: Us Americans have to think about those things too.

Anyway, I'm thinking something nice and small, because I probably won't have to drive around anyone other than myself. I'll have to go used, of course, and the low end of used at that, so I'm thinking maybe something like an early-90's Ford Escort or Chevy Cavalier.

...at least that's my realistic expectation. As a fantasy car, I would love a new Dodge Dakota...

...but then again, I have always liked pickup trucks (and cars in general) since I was like 5. They used to be my interest. In fact, I'm really enjoying talking about them now.

I drive a volvo. My dad just bought whatever was cheap and didn't get crappy gas mileage. A volvo would've been my last choice, but i'm 17, so it's not like I really have much of a choice. I mean, it's free, so I'm not really gonna complain.
