Happy birthday! My younger son is 17 today. My older daughter is 18 and she still lives at home (senior in high school), doesn't drive, and still wants me to go to the doctor with her and back there to the exam room with her and talk to the doctor for her etc, and she still wants me to make her phone calls to find out about things for her. She also still refers to herself and her friends (even her 22yo fiance and her other friends who are up to 25 some married with a baby) as kids, and to those over about 30-35 as grownups. So, don't worry about making the transition from kid to adult too fast, it'll happen.
My oldest son turned 18 in juvie. That had to suck for him. He's yet to get his tattoo for that though. You get a black rose tattoo if you spent a teenage birthday in jail they say. He wants one for that, but I think that's tacky.

Rax, I'm a big procrastinator too, so that completely makes sense.
OliveOilMom: I tend to make my mom manage my stuff too. And personally, I think a black rose is pretty cool, although I've never even thought about getting any permanent tattoo before.
