I hats mirrors! Whenever I go somewhere I consciously avoid them. They irritate me. Can't tell why, they just do.
Any similar thoughts?

I think you will find that yours is not an uncommon sentiment here. I too do not particularly like mirrors or having my picture taken.

I feel the same way. I often startle myself when I look in a mirror because I look different than I picture myself. I also hate photos of myself. Almost always, I can't stand them. It's strange because I'm not really a self-hating person. I think it's just because when I see myself visually, something doesn't match.

EDIT: And no my avatar is not a pic of myself, it is Eli Manning from when he was on SNL.

There's no mirrors in my household. My parents stopped replacing them after my appearance kept breaking them.

Supposedly in dreams, mirrors are one of two things the brain can't process correctly. (The other is a light switch)

I generally only know what I look like when looking at a mirror. If I'm not in front of one, then I can't mentally picture myself.

Huh, that's interesting. I rarely look good in pictures, and I have no great love of mirrors either. Except for in my room, when I'm doing homework. It makes the room appear brighter, and I can focus best in bright light. Anyone else like that?

I despise mirrors for some reason, while most people seem to love to stand in front it. It is my self-consciousness most likely, but I just can't stand to look at them.
