People do it all the time and I really hate it. I hate that when I have a meltdown, adults assume that it's just because the damn kids that are so rude and don't consider that a) I have a goddamn disability and b) maybe they were the ones initially acting out of line.
I don't care if a kid in the 1950s that corrected an adult had their fingernails ripped out or whatever they did in those days. That's stupid- if an adult is wrong, they are wrong. The age of the person correcting them does not make their statement any less wrong.
If that's what happened in your day, that's what happened in your day. Times have changed, and customs changed because people saw that maybe this was a better way to do things.
I completely agree. It's nothing but a power trip, and I don't give a crap about what they did in your day. These people can't take being corrected from anyone, so when they become adults they feel all powerful, and it's even harder for them when someone younger (who they're supposed to be "safe" from) corrects them. It's true. If you're wrong, you're wrong, and you shouldn't be allowed to wrong kids or adults. It's basically like children are inferior or something or some master x slave relationship. It's messed up. Young ones are people too.
