Why are most adolescent NT females hopeless romantics?

This has honestly been puzzling me from the time I was 12 years old. Why are most teen girls so focused on romance? If they get any attention from a decent looking guy they freak out. If I see a good looking guy, I might smile, look, and then get on with life. Most of my friends consider and call themselves "hopeless romantics" which means that they enjoy romance movies and I generally boy crazy. I'm attracted to men as any straight girl, but I'm definitely not boy crazy. Am I just lacking in hormones or do I just have different priorities? Maybe my middle/high school experiences have set my viewpoints on dating off from most NTs as well. I'm not bitter, just a lot more indifferent to romance than most teens. Why do most teen girls care so much about romance?

Likely the trait of aspies to see things for what they are and ignore what the environment wants us to believe.

It's kind of hard to answer why teen girls are focused on romance since I can't really speak from the perspective of a girl being a guy, but I definitely know what you are saying. I'm in a situation now really where I want to date but I'm not sure what to do or know about finding the right girl, it's almost overwhelming to me at this point. You'll probably feel romance at some point though and have an interest in a certain guy.

"Normal" is just another word for most probable cause of action. It's kind of a misnomer.

Meaning there might be other more rewarding ways to handling things.

Yeah thats an advantage to NT girls that i have studied.
They respond well to romanticism and do not know what to do when they encounter it.

Guys: Study all romantical writers and analyze data collect from them. compose your own strategies! Do not over shoot it,Fools!

yeah, AS guys can utilize romanticism as a weapon but NT girls will suspect ur trying to get in their pants.

^This, pretty much. Adolescents are raging with hormones. I think about romance/sexuality as well, but I'm not sure if I'm emotionally mature for it.

I dont understand the romance thing whys everyone so boy crazy. the boys i know are really imiture and i wouldnt want to date any of them (even if they are hot)

Then I woke up, and I'm not going to emotional connections to one of the opposite sex again.

The same thing happened to me. I dropped my hopeless romanticism when I was 13 or 14. It was the best decision that I ever made.

I don't think that boy crazy = hopeless romantic. They might have similar symptoms, but be two different things.

In any case, I truly am a hopeless romantic, except I've been breaking girls' hearts... Yet they still love me.
