Help, Aspie son 13 in Group Home

Son took knife to school to protect himself from bullies,got hit in head with basketball and threatened kid to stay away. School called sheriff and sheriff booked him on 3 felonies (didn't even know he had a disability). Kern Regional Center, CA got him out of juvinelle hall and stuck him in a group home, been there since October. Went to court 10 Jan to get him home, judge wouldn't listen to me or lawyer, only to Regional Center legal adviser. I felt stabbed in the back by regional center. They want to keep son in neutral setting, give him "compatency training". He's received no counseling since he was halled off by police. He's in a home with other kids on the spectrum, not receiving any "social skills" there and not exactly a conducive learning environment. Anyone have any ideas how I can get him home?

Does your son have an attorney? Can you hire one for him?

I think this will work itself out, but it will take time. You'll get your son back.

Yes defientally get an attorney and other then letting them work it the best thing you can do is just be there for your son and see him alot and hug him alot and stuff like that.

I have a military lawyeresque friend who would do this. He knows that I'm more or less AS..and would do soemthing like this.

You should sue the state! Has your son been diganosed with Asperger's? If he's diagnosed, he could get benefits.

Sue their asses, and if you lose, grab a railgun and hold somebody important for hostage. THAT will get their attention real quick.

If you think I'm joking, im not. They have no right to blow you off if you're the parent. I smell serious corruption in this court system you speak of, there is probably some idiot behind this who doesn't give a rat's ass about whether or not he has a disability. People like that need a one-way ticket to central Hell.

Contact the local media and raise a shit-fit. Turn the whole community against the judge!

He's still being kept in Bakersfield, CA Group Home, going on 6 months and we're fit to be tied. We have a court date 10 Apr, not soon enough and even then I don't feel they'll drop the charges by the District Attorney. I have contacted the PAI looking at the case hoping they will be able to turn this around. It is so unfair. I want to move to a safe place, if there is one when I get him home. Kern County, CA just lost my tax dollars.

Thanks for the support guys. Wish me luck tomorrow. I sure wish I knew how to sue their asses, I am so disgusted and outraged by their lack of consideration for my son and family.

We did it! But, now they expect us to drive an hour each way to take him to counseling every week in Bakersfield, CA. Still seems unreasonable and I'm wondering how long he'll have probation officer.

the courts are a waste of time and should be shut down no-one in the justice system cares about children or their lives and they cudn't care less about a child with a disability. i hope it goes well for you and his name cleared as iv been mis-treated by the courts who took none of my PTSD or AS into account. the justice system is a failure and i have no faith in it but i pray to God your son is not mis-treated like i was. they see people as numbers and have no sympathy for children who need help not punishment.

It sucks! The charges are still being dangled over his head and we have to go back to court in May. Out of 4 we know we can get at least 2 charges dropped. I'm thoroughly digusted with our justice system, it's an awful game to play with children and people with needs. I seriously would like to consider another country at this point.

it's a shame people that don't know us or care about us have so much power over our lives. i think there are many things that need changing in this world but only by force and my personal favourite is violence but it is correct that violence gets you no where. these people in power are corrupt as power corrupts judges get paid loads and do more harm than good. how the law allows judges to sentence people to death at the same time it condems murder is ridiculous its hipocritical and vastly out of date iv been a victim of crime aswell and know of many people who are too and the justice system not only fails the wrongly accused or in need of help not punishment but also lets the victims down. i think radical changes need to be enforced and the police are just as bad.
i have serious hatred for all police/justice enforcement and honestly enjoy seeing one die (there are many videos on youtube of cops being executed it makes me sick watching them but fullfills my lust for vengence i say to myself "now u know wat it's like to have control of your life taken away from you, go to hell!" if anyone else who was executed in that manner id be horrified at seeing those videos but the police and co. are hardly worth the title of human and derserve as much pain as could possibly be delivered. sorry if iv offended any1 i just dnt care when i see something that stirs my berserker nature inside me i stop caring, and hearing about your son has stirred alot of feelings better left buried in a cage inside my soul where iv kept them over the years.
i hope all goes well and that you are not failed by the "justice" system again like it has done.
i can imagine how your son feels i went through rape when i was younger i would not mention it to anyone in normal conversation but it the pain and suffering i felt can only describe how your son feels everyday
i can only pray for your son and im deeply upset, im crying at the moment and im not ashamed to admit it.

SuPaStAr im really sorry to hear about that, but there are some cops who are just trying to do the right thing witch just makes it harder to fix cus they dont know witch ones are just trying to d the right thing

there are good people in all races/jobs/countries etc but the bad 1s have a greater impact on the 1s that are not corrupt. it's a shame it is like this. but it is human NT nature to be evil/corrupt etc well thts wat iv found. aspies or ppl who hav gone thru wat iv gone thru are the only 1s tht have showed me any kindness. it's a shame my life is like this i have a tainted view point on life and people in general i treat people that i do not know like s**t because thts how i view the world
