You can't brainwash someone into atheism, unless you show them all the scientific evidence that debunks religion. In that case, it's not brainwashing.

you mean scientific theories, it is still brainwashing
to believe that you own the only truth in universe (and here I am pointing at these scientific evidences) this is a brainwashing

In regards to truth and "atheistic brainwashing," only one thing needs to be said:
the burden of proof is on the one making the claim. If you claim there's a god, goddess, zarathustra, flying spaghetti monster, etc., it is on you to to provide the proof of its existence. Just like in a court of law, the burden of proof is on the prosecutor.

"to believe that you own the only truth in universe (and here I am pointing at these scientific evidences) this is a brainwashing."

This sentence makes no sense. Truth is not created by consensus, reality is independent of consciousness.

is this forum a proper place to do this?!

If I'm going to see atheists blanketly labeled as brainwashers, then yes.

I don't think it's yours to decide
plus, no one said all atheists are brainwashed, but only who thinks that they are better than others because they discovered the "truth" as they say
truth doesn't belong to a person, maybe everyone holds a piece of it, but not the whole of it
now you are angry and you have the right to defend your "faith" which is atheism
but do you think what Basshead said wasn't offending?
thinking that religious people doesn't own a scientific evidence too, is brainwashing

"I don't think it's yours to decide."

It's for who to decide, then? You mean the moderator? However, I didn't start the thread, and you had no problem jumping in to say that atheists are guilty of brainwashing, so don't back out now with that excuse.

"thinking that religious people doesn't own a scientific evidence too, is brainwashing"

Show me evidence of God and I'll concede.

Genesis 3 : 14 So the LORD God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You [are] cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.

the underlined statement, means that snakes and serpents by this time didn't go on their bellies like they do now

did anyone see a snake or a serpent walking on limbs? not in our life time

was there any walking snake or serpent before?! Yes

Najash rionegrina

and you can read about it on wikipedia here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Najash_rionegrina

"Like a number of other Cretaceous snakes (see below), it had two hind-limbs."

and here is a picture for the fossil

Image

now, Serpents (or whatever the name of the common ancestor of snakes), used to walk (science), and God commanded it to go on it's belly (religion), which is a Fact now, not a theory

how did Moses know this? he wasn't a paleontologist nor a scientist, how did he know?
of course he can't know alone, but only if the one who Commanded the beast to walk on it's belly, told Moses about it

there are more where this came from mate , I gave you the "evidence" that you asked for :)

because....?! :D

to make it easier for you
1- I'm not buying it because there is no scientific evidence
2- I'm not buying it because this verse isn't in the Bible
3- I'm not buying it because I don't have an answer to it

pick one

None of the above. Everyone knows that the flying spaghetti monster created walking snakes bones to fool people who believe in the historical accuracy of the Bible.

(I'll add that any value in religious stories come from their metaphorical meanings, not the proof of a flood or a virgin birth.)

you need a proof for what you say mate
this is a real fossil, you can search and you shall find

would I consider your feeble try to change the subject is a sign of backing out?

look, I didn't say that all atheists are brainwashed, I was an atheist my self to begin with
I said, no one owns the full perfect truth, as humans there are a lot that we don't know
so mocking on religion and religious people because only they are different, would make it worse
why? because you have to remember, as long as you have AS, you are different, and I am sure you won't like others to mock on you because of it
a brainwashed atheist, is an atheist who thinks that others stupid because they believe in God
who thinks that he know it all, and there is nothing science left out
this is wrong, and this is disappointing
so take my advice, leave others to their beliefs and believe in whatever you want, without trying to convert them, nor asking for an evidence you can't stand against, then, and only then, you will be happy in your life

we are all free to choose our path in life, it's all a matter of choice mate

cheers! :)

I really don't know...

I know I'm not an atheist because I believe there is some high spiritual relam that we may not know about.

I think every one is an agnotistic to some degree, because I have a friend that "says" she's an atheist, but I believe she just has a different perception of spirituality, it's just that her view is not accepted in her home or school, or whatever. Even someone who has a very strong faith in something (Christianity for example) you believe Jesus Christ is your savior and there is a God, but it may not be true.

I have agnotistic moments because I get frustrated with religion and how people think their way is the right way for everyone.

The only thing I seriously believe in and believe that is true is:

LOA: The Law of Attraction
and..
Daoism
and...
Psychic stuff

It's kind of funny because I go to a Christian school XD
