I'll most likely be going to University in a year and a half, but I find it hard to imagine a life different to my current routine. Just thinking about it seems surreal.

yeah, I can hardly believe it that in just 8 years I will be 'retired' I have no money saved towards that day, and the little amount of Social Security from a lifetime of work will be laughably short of what it takes to live even minimally.

When I look at it it feels unreal and ever surreal.

I know what you mean, I can't imagine having to work out all my money and work myself and not doing what I do now. It's too weird

I feel like a pre-teen myself according to my interests. My mom is always complaining I act like a 5 year-old. I know I have to change, but trying to change has been traumatic to me. My parents cheer when I go out to the movies or meet people, I've done those things for the first time at age 17. I just can't deal with things most teenagers do like going to concerts, dancing clubs, I know that I'll never do those things, that's surreal to me, but I'll be 22 in two weeks; and my father is always telling me I have no life and that my life is empty because I don't live as much as I should. I watched slumdog millionaire yesterday and I was about to cry all the movie, I just wanted to go out, I knew that I could start crying and yelling any moment. But I was strong and watched it all.

As far as I know its NT teens that go to clubs and stuff, All the aspies I know don't, so you don't need to worry about that, its like in uni where everyone pretty much just parties in the first yeah but I couldn't do that, i'd just be working and studying

I'm also going to uni in a year and a half and I can barely picture it at all. I can kind of imagine the period leading up to it but after that it's the unknown.
I'm guessing I'm going to be rather lonely though. :(

Wow I know what you mean, but I always imagined being a teenager to be such a shocking change. It wasn't at all. Now it seems hard to imagine being an adult. It ptobably won't seem that different.

The whole idea of being an adult freaks me the hell out. I'm 18, almost 19, but I still feel about 15 inside. it's weird.

I go to clubs! I actually really enjoy it not just because of the music but also it makes socializing easier because it's a much less formal setting, plus you're there primarily for the music not the social interaction, so, no need to worry too much about how you come across.

Good for you then :P
I wouldn't go, as I don't go to parties or any other social event, I have no cares for alcohol, and besides, they are social events, I prefer to sit in a corner and read rather than talk, more easy to do, and no bloody annoying people to deal with :D

Ouch. I don't want to think about it.
I'll be graduating High school this May and going to community college this fall, but I don't feel like i'm old enough.
I'm kinda stuck at, idk, 13-15?
i don't even know what i'll be studying. my mom is trying really hard to get me to go and i'm going just for her, not me. I just really don't see the point.
Okay, there's my I-don't-care-don't-want-to-think-about-it rant for the day.
Chick-Fil-A anyone?

if it is any comfort to you guys, I was about a month before I found out I was AS I was skipping down the hall at work (I am pushing 60) and thought to myself "I wonder why I never grew up?" The nicest thing about AS is not having to grow up. Really!
