Hi all, I'm not exactly a familiar face around here, but I'm Moomoogelato or Katie. Feel free to call me anything along those lines. Just so you know, I'm 17, turning 18 in September.

I really hate to complain about this, but it's really starting to get to me. I posted a topic in the Members Only Discussion, about a idea I had for an AS school. It's been nearly two days and the topic has like barely any views, and no posts other than my own. I just have this great idea, and it's like there's something that doesn't want to let me get that idea out. I'm really frustrated. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong with setting up this thread. Could someone give me some suggestions?

Thanks,
~Katie

Familiarity may well play a part; I haven't seen your thread, but will endeavor to take a look. As a teacher, it sounds interesting. By the way, from looking at your signature... some may have felt you were soliciting them to go elsewhere, when is often frowned upon - please understand that I am not saying that is the case here. Hope you continue to grow more active here, and hope to find your other post shortly.

makuranososhi-- thank you for your post. The familiarity thing is actually quite a good point. I would not try to imply that people should just leave WP all together and join my site, but I was slightly worried about people getting that impression when I was making my sig. I didn't really know how to label the link, do you have any changes to recommend to me? Also, in my topic, I mentioned two links, a link to another topic, and the link in my sig. That might have done it too.

Is it too late to save the topic?

I'm really worried, because that topic is related to a really big dream I have. It will break my heart if I fail to get support for it at all.

A couple things... the cross posting is a bit of a no-no; just giving you a caution there, as having a thread in every forum on the same subject is a clutterbomb waiting to happen. Not coming down on you; your subsequent post was an extension of a thought - I'm just too aware of the rules right now. *shakes head* Sorry, need a nap. *chuckle* You might have more luck asking for feedback in the Parents forum, though it will have a bias - not a bad thing, but something to be aware of. Or asking specific questions - from those in school, what would you want? From parents, what do you expect, desire or demand for your children? What didn't work? Formulate more interaction, ask questions instead of offering data - just my two cents.

I totally agree with asking more questions: what went right, what went wrong, etc. I did see the post in the parents area, congrats on that, you're doing a good job promoting it. and I think the school's a brilliant idea, I can't wait to see it working. It's only a matter of time.

most great ideas get ignored.

the dud ideas get picked up on and the world runs with them.
hence the nasty little debacle the world is always finding its good self in.

alas alas...

A school for AS'ers?

If only one existed when I was younger, and I could have gone...

That is most definitely a really good idea.
