I could care less = I do care some
ANY double negatives = "I don't have none!"
ANY incorrect subject-verb agreement = "They was going to."
PEOPLE WHO SAY "SHOULD OF". IT'S "SHOULD HAVE", IDIOTS!! !

I don't know if that's what was being asked for.

Here are some words that are used to "pretty up" unpleasant things:
bath tissue = toilet paper
dried plums = prunes

LMAO I never understood why people would say that. Regard... less... means regarding something less. So irregardless would be a double negative LOL.

I would never have believed my insignificant little post on such an old thread (2006) would get everyone going :D I'll have to do that again

"With all due respect" means "You deserve no respect, and"

"You need to" means "I think I am better than you and I think that you should"

"You are to" means "I think I am better than you and I want you to"

I worked in my university advising office for a semester. We considered a prerequisite--as opposed to a requisite--a course completed with a satisfactory grade before starting a new course. A requisite was either a completed course or a course taken concurrently. Different universities might have different interpretations to what is meant by a prerequisite.

I hate when American football announcers say "forward lateral". A ball can be thrown forward, or thrown laterally, but not both forward and laterally at the same time.

A ball can be passed backward (toward the back of the passer), forward (toward the front of the passer), or laterally (directly to the side of the passer). Forward passes are always illegal in rugby (league and union), and sometimes illegal in American and Canadian football.

So What America football announcers really mean when they say "forward lateral" is "illegal forward pass." In fact, they say "lateral" when they really mean "backwards."

It all bugs the hell out of me.

OK, it's an old, old thread, but it can be added to.

My contribution:

Decimated - I wish people would understand that this is NOT the same as 'wiped out,' or 'totally destroyed.' As I was typing this, I heard it misused once again in a sports context. No, team A didn't decimate team B, that would have been a bloody outcome.

Literally - when did this come to mean its opposite, metaphorically?

How may we service you? - and all it's variations. The word you're looking for is "serve." One person may serve another. A bull services a cow.

Man up - annoying. Just annoying.

Should be banned phrases like "People is [negative adjective]", or "More [adjective] than [same adjective]", and all slang words.
