Society still accepts the role of housewife/house-girlfriend, hence why the lack of job/car still doesn't affect much the women's romance value.

Men need to change that, by refusing to date unemployed women and to become as picky as women in those matters.

I never understand why men have a hard time getting a date. Some men do like women that are not too skinny. My last dating app, I got alot of men interested in me & I didn't hide my weight.

It would be nice to have a man with a good job, if I were going to be the home maker. I don't think I could be a really great home maker though, and I wouldn't mind if the man wanted to be the home maker, provided he actually tended properly to the home....though at the moment, I'm not the best provider either.

I'm a girl and I still have a hard time dating also. It seems like I always get losers who want to mooch off of me or use me and I get tired of that. I wish dating was easier period because if it were I would have a nice, good looking, understanding guy that has his s**t together along with a good paying job to hang out with.

I know it's hard but there are good men out there. Don't lose hope.

Because most women see a lot of men as inferior due to the poor economy and decreasing good paying jobs.

I dont know why I bother living anymore . Just wasting air and resources

Almost word for word of every woman on dating sites . But people insist women are all different. Do you have your s**t together? Do you have a good paying job?

Unemployment and lack of good jobs is only going get worse as automation steams forward. More and more men won't be able to find good paying jobs. This is the new reality. No one wants to work min wage but that's the only jobs in the market of ones even lucky to get that. Mean when 400+ people apply for a min wage job that shows how bad the economy is. There isn't enough middle class jobs for 320 million women and men non less 6billion men and women on the planet. Sure when women didn't work and robots were just a dream there were enough good jobs for most men. Simple math really even without robotics there never was and never would be enough good jobs for all women and men. So in order to have women in the work force men were forced out. It balanced where as men worked and women didn't now both work and both have large populations who don't work.

All for equality just waiting for men's equality to catch up with women's. I.e. Stop demanding well paid guys and accept reality and date for love.

This worlds depressing

I don't think that it's possible to change what people desire because it's irrational. For some people good job is real love.

Not immediately but for most people I the early 1900s blacks were second class citizens and women were seen as inferior to men. They had to push to change that mindset. To get women's right to vote and to remove segregation. So this mindset of guys have to have a good job to be worth anything in life also can be changed in time. First it has to be acknowledged though. Times have changed and so many people are stuff in the past like racist old people.

Dating is completely different. It's illegal to discriminate someone for their race or religion, but you can't sue someone for rejecting you as a date due to race or religion. It will always be acceptable to choose the best looking, smartest and wealthiest partner available.

I disagree that these desires are irrational. It's no accident that there is a tendency for men as a demographic to desire young, pretty women, and women, as a demographic, to desire strong, financially secure men. These are the optimal traits to produce healthy offspring and ensure their success.

I've had the same troubles, woman-wise and job-wise. I'm on Disability for schizoaffective disorder, and don't see much of a reason to get a job, much less one that involves a skill I've over-learned (I was a custodian for three different companies for about seven years, and have no wish to pursue that path further). The jobs I want are taken. That or they expect you to have some years of experience with the tasks you'd be doing, rather than teaching you along the way.

Anyway, I've tried at least eight different dating sites and haven't had luck. Only on one site have women called me "gorgeous," "cutie," etc. and even that's rare. I've tried the same sites on which my friends have had success, but everything amounted to naught. I'll make a simple gambit to try to elicit a casual conversation, and, if anyone responds, it's a lukewarm response and the conversation ends. I have trouble finding things that interest other people. Even the "geek-to-geek" website requires you to pay if you want to find your soulmate. It shouldn't work that way.

I think females have it easier than males in this case. I can't actually account for the reason, though. The friends of mine who've done the same thing, both females, are not necessarily attractive, at least by most modern standards, but they've met with much more success. Their relationships didn't last long, but at least they've had some.

So yeah. I'm pretty sure that part of the lack of mutual attraction is because I don't have a job, career, or even much of a plan for my future.

No, it's not an accident. Genes specify our traits and these preferences increase the chance of passing over genes. But they're irrational and subconscious preferences. If they were rational and conscious then people who have no desire or ability (women after menopause, gays, lesbians and many others) to have an offspring would not have these preferences. Luckily we're fairly smart and we can ignore these desires and choose rationally the best mate for us.

A good job isn't everything. Last week I made $1,890 (including overtime) but I'm still single.

Trying to change what people naturally like is just as unlikely to work as gay conversation camps.

Nothing can stop gay guys liking other men and nothing can stop straight women liking certain types of men.
