No, my neighbors don't have a pet fish that is irking me :)

No, instead my neighbors play their music all day long with loud bass that comes through the wall.

I often feel that my brain gets overwhelmed and I need a day or two of peace and quiet. I think this is a defining part of my condition - being frequently overwhelmed. Maybe it is sensory-based, I'm not sure.

It is hard to relax when I hear "dunnn.... thump-thump-thump" constantly through the wall.

I've tried talking to them. I've tried sending a hint by turning my music on louder. No, instead the guy with the stereo smiles when he sees me in the parking lot and informs me that he will be playing his music yet again tonight, and hopefully it's not too loud. This sounds very neighborly, but if I ask him to turn it down, he just turns it up more the next day.

It gets a little exhausting to ask him to turn it down every day, when he clearly knows it bothers me. He has given me a hard time about other things too. I think he likes picking on me.

It appears that he has the great advantage here of not feeling the need to enjoy periods of silence.

So, I guess I just get over it? On the bright side, I'm moving out of here in a month. I've been putting up with this for about 10 months now, and I guess this last bite is just hard to swallow.

Well if you're moving out of there in a month that pretty much solves that problem. Hopefully you wont have new problems with people the next place you go.

Are you moving because of the noise----or, were you gonna move, anyway?

If you're moving because of the noise, I would report him to your Property Management people, FIRST; sometimes, that works.

I'm moving anyway, not because of the noise. I guess I was just venting in my original message.

I did talk to the guy, and he was pretty nice, but made it clear he has no intention of turning down the music. Oh well... that's life I guess. True, in less than a month the problem will be solved.

My current property management company says tenants have to deal with their own noise issues, unfortunately. My new apartment community supposedly has a strict noise policy, so I guess that should be good.

Very glad you're getting away from there. Bass drives me nuts. I was going to suggest earplugs etc. but at least you're going to be free, and quiet.
