And now I am going to impulsively remember this moment and have to hit myself to forget it

I certainly have moments/memories where I feel like that. It sucks. I try to tell myself that I’m not an idiot and that we all have our moments. It helps sometimes.

Hope you are doing OK now.

Hi I’m okay.

I had too much to drink and my filter ran off. I said stupid things to strangers and now I’m still cringing about what I said and did. I feel like such a doofus. The embarrassment is not going away….

Oh

I think most people have been in that situation. Don't worry too much. It's not permanent. It will wear off

If I posted every time I did this it would fill Wrong Planet's forums and Alex would kick me off permanantly

I don't think you're actually going up to strangers/people you barely knew from interaction in real life and saying stupid s**t.

But I guess this kind of helps me to not cringe about it.

I haven't been a drinker for many years but, when I was, I think every night of drinking made me cringe the next day. Sometimes, the line between appropriate and inappropriate can be a little blurry and alcohol doesn't make it any easier. Try not to be too hard on yourself.

I don't even need to be drunk to do that, just bored.

I have experienced anxiety with post alcohol nights out, in the following morning.

Contemplating how embarrassing I had been the night before etc.

I think it is normal to worry about that stuff.

Hang in there, HT. :)

Yeah totally. I walked in on my (male) boss having a pee in the gents on a night out.

I couldn't (still can't) remember even doing it because I was so drunk but there was photographic evidence of it in the Monday morning when I got into work.

I literally walked in the office and the whole place stopped, turned to look at me and burst out laughing. I don't really feel embarrassment like some people do but it was funny.

I don't remember how someone got the photo evidence of this but it was a corker.

Just style it out kid. You'll be ok
