Why do I feel this way every time people talk about kids?
I don't know but at some dinner times and people are talking about their days and start talking about their colleagues with kids or my sister and her son. I sometimes find myself feeling like not always wanting to talk about it. It makes it just aggravate the thoughts that everyone has "moved on with life" whereas I'm still single with no kids and living at home and others have kids, a house of their own and so on. It feels like they are more "grown up" than I am.
I feel like a really bad person for feeling this way. I wish I didn't have to feel this way when conversations like this arise. I don't always get these things happening in my head whenever I hear people talking about kids or seeing people with kids come in as customers at work.
Thank you for your post chris1989,
I think this is something recognizable for many ND or NT even
my 0.5 cents here is: do not compare yourself to others, the only person I try to compare myself with is me of yesterday. you comparing how "grow-up" by any measure you are vs them is comparing apples to oranges
+ You are not a bad person because of a feeling.
Kind regards,
Kada
