I'm feeling lousy tonight, to be honest. Was looking forward to my birthday (just turned 40), celebrated Saturday evening.

But, now the day is ending and I feel like crap. Now 40, still jobless for about 11 years, no girlfriend or wife to come home and kiss or receive a kiss from. Life sucks - I've got a major case of the blues.

I haven't been thrilled about a birthday since I was a kid. To me, it's just a day on a piece of paper. I don't feel different or special and I certainly don't want to feel like I'm getting older.

There is a small positive though in there - life isn't static, it doesn't remain the same. Wishing for a positive change for you. Hang in there.

I used to love birthdays, but now I dislike the attention.

i treat myself on my b-day, so that gives me a reason to not dread them.

I was born once I see no need in celebrating my birth annually over and over till the day I die.

I've had way more fun on regular days partying with friends then most birthdays that I can remember.
But if people congratulate me I have nothing against that either.

It's just another day.
I'm no Grinch, it's just how I view these "special" days.

Why did the last two not suck?

Birthdays are mostly just another day to me. I can use it to get things, but it hasn't felt special since I was about 10.

Maybe I'm just weird.
