All, I remember growing up was being told how horrible a creature I was. I heard mean, hateful, selfish, stupid, fat, & ugly. And to top it off, one of my aunts turned to my mom in front of me & said I was just a piece of excrement who'd never amount to anything.
I hate when people are right. I wish I'd never been born. Maybe the world would be a better place.

The world would be a better place if people didn't go around calling other people mean, hateful, selfish, stupid, fat, and ugly, or calling them pieces of excrement that would never amount to anything.
The only problem I see here is these people's nasty attitudes. It's no reflection on you whatsoever. You're great I'm certain.
^^Yaye greetings tomboy4good. I am very certain that you are not horrible and mean and hateful and selfish and stupid and fat and ugly. ^^ I am sure that you are very lovely. ^^ Indeed, I believe this is very interesting as I believe that, perhaps by "admitting" that you believe that you are horrible implies that your are very worried about being horrible - and thus care greatly about the feelings of other individuals and how your actions may upset them.
I am very sorry if I am not very helpful for you. I do hope that you feel happy and blessed very soon *Blesses*

I don't think they are right. Not many people deserve to be regarded so lowly.
The world would be a better place if all the people who have committed horrendous crimes didn't exist. I highly doubt you're one of those, so it is likely that you have at least not made the world any worse a place.
In the end though, you know yourself best. Don't let anyone influence how you view yourself. You have the backing of the ones who understand.

^^ Greetings TenPencePiece,
I do hope this is alrighty that I disagree with you TenPencePiece. I believe that although many individuals who have committed harm to others (such as killing, theft, harm etc.) do so again, I believe that this may not necessarily be the case. ^^ Indeed this would be very lovely if no individuals were to suffer. However, since a naughty act may have been committed by an individual within the past, this is indeed within the past and not the present or future. Therefore, perhaps they may happily complete nice acts within the future, and hence remove suffering from individuals.
In addition, if all individuals who have committed crimes within the past were to vanish, this does not imply that any other remaining individuals shall not carry out crimes within the future.
I am very sorry if this is horrible of me.

First of all, you are among friends here, tomboy4good. None of us will believe these hurtful things about you. Please keep in mind that people who find it so easy to say such ugly things, believe far worse of themselves. They hope to alleviate their own extreme self loathing by hurting others. Keep this in mind whey they say things like this. They get a momentary thrill from treading on your feelings, in the false belief that they are elevated in stature by doing so. Believe me, it sucks to be them! Just refuse to internalize what they say. You are a worthy person!

Thanks everyone. I just grew up in a place where no one liked or wanted me. My birthmother kept my siblings, but not me. Once I was adopted, all I ever heard was that I was a mistake...that my entire existence was based on a mistake, & that adopting me was the biggest mistake my adoptive parents ever made. They were perfect...especially my mom. I couldn't even please her by doing dishes the right way. And she'd smash all the ones I washed or dried in front of me....screaming that I was a horrid useless creature the whole time. I had no siblings. But my parents got a dog who they loved dearly. He could do no wrong....I could do no right, & constantly was reminded of that fact. I had no friends, but bullies loved to hurt me (still do). No one had kind words for me...not one that I can ever remember, though I do remember all the things that people said against me. The majority can't be wrong in this case. I just see an ugly useless piece of garbage when I catch glimpse of my reflection. It's difficult to find anything good to say about myself.

The majority you mention is not the majority of the world's population, since you haven't met them. You say yourself that they didn't like nor want you. That's their problem, and it would have been difficult to change their thinking.
I think you need to find new people who are understanding and supportive, and that will start to change your views, it did mine.

Because they weren't washed the "right way", she would smash the dishes? That's incredibly crazy. I very much doubt that you did a bad job of washing them, but even if you had, all she needed to do was rewash them. In other words, the woman wasn't perfect, she was crazy. If someone like that had a good opinion of me, then I'd be worried.
I'm sorry if I upset you by pointing this out, but I really feel it needed to be said.
It isn't that I don't understand where you're coming from. I was born with crossed eyes, and that earned me a lot of kicks and snarls and accusations of being a "cockeyed bastard". But as insane and destructive as my upbringing is, I finally have managed to find some snatches of sanity in my life. And you've got to look at the source. When foul tempered, crazy people abuse you, that means you aren't the sort of person foul tempered, crazy people approve of. This is a good thing.
Another thing I've learned is this: the people who care about whether or not they're horrible may not be perfect - but they at least have something going for them. The ones who think they're perfect... they either never notice and make any attempt to correct their own failings, or they simply don't care. Either way, the ones who think they're better than everyone around them are the ones who make life a nightmare.

Thanks to those who offered me such nice words. I really appreciate them. Like I said in another posting, most times I can't see the beauty for the beast. Feeling a little less sorry for myself though I still have no clue what I can do to fix my current disaster. I don't really feel qualified for life, let alone a job.

Here is a list that has helped me to come a long way from the person I was, to the person I am now. These are everyone's basic rights as human beings:
"Personal Bill of Rights"
I have the right to ask for what I want.
I have the right to say no to requests or demands I can't meet.
I have the right to express all of my feelings, positive or negative.
I have the right to change my mind.
I have the right to make mistakes and not have to be perfect.
I have the right to follow my own standards.
I have the right to say no to anything when I feel I am not ready, it is unsafe, or it violates my values.
I have the right to determine my own priorities.
I have the right not to be responsible for others' behavior, actions, feelings, or problems.
I have the right to expect honesty from others.
I have the right to be angry at someone I love.
I have the right to be uniquely myself.
I have the right to feel scared and say "I'm scared."
I have the right to say "I don't know."
I have the right not to give excuses or reasons for my behavior.
I have the right to make decisions based on my feelings.
I have the right to my own needs for personal space and time.
I have the right to be playful and frivolous.
I have the right to be healthier than those around me.
I have the right to be in a non abusive environment.
I have the right to make friends and be comfortable around people.
I have the right to change and grow.
I have the right to have my needs and wants respected by others.
I have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
I have the right to be happy.[b]

I believe it! You are far from the first person I've talked to with a life story like that. If you are willing to PM me about your age and what area you are in, I'll try to help you find help. It doesn't sound like you want to die, it sounds like you just want to be accepted and treated fairly by people.

Thank you. For most of my life, I have been shunned. I know I have low self-esteem & boundary issues (among others). I've tried to get help through my insurance but they don't listen to what I say. That just adds to my frustration.
