I try to keep updated on stuff and it always just leaves me depressed. I really hate it, You'd think there is a better way if if the main way causes so much distress.

If you stopped caring about politics it would stop depressing you.

You have to keep up with the events of the world, and why they happen.

One also has to be vigilant when there’s mindsets which seek to destroy what you hold dear—-such as the Nazi ideology. That takes both knowledge and life experience.

Politics has depressed me to the point that I tend to steer clear from them. I still know where I stand but it’s frustrating on a level I can’t seem to articulate upon clearly.

All politicians are corrupt. I have no doubt Canadian ones also get compensation from companies or pass certain laws that benifit the company. If you think is just American thing your wrong. All politicians are at this to make themselves powerful and wealthy.

the difference is that Canadian pols by and large at least pay lip service to the 99%. our pols are now openly in thrall to the 1%, remember when senator turtleface McConnell made that comment about getting their tax scam passed or else their donors would tell them where to get off? in Canada no pol would be caught dead being that cynical in front of a camera.

Yeah, I am so depressed and actually angry that I seriously can't think of any way to articulate reasonably. I just wish most of the corruption and current state will be annihilated from existence now. I don't see any point in not ignoring politics when we are so divided and corrupt.

JFK had a saying, "keep your friends close but your enemies closer." one must keep an eye on one's enemies and NEVER ignore them. THAT is why we MUST pay attention to politics.

Politicians suck. But they are just a byproduct of humanity. Humans are a greedy selfish species.
I was enjoying calmness but now atf and nra are pushing for gun control with Democrats again. So depressing. And my state isn’t that great political either

I know that people say we shouldn't focus on the past, but at least as far as politics go, the present SUCKS overall. If it's one thing to long for way back when, then that is it.

the present sucks wind but the future will impel vast hurricane quantities with a fury. mark my words, we will, in the future, look back upon this point as the relative calm before the storm.

And so our future will always continue to only get more stormy, while we won't go back to the relative calm that was many ways back.
