I don’t think it’s true. You always seem coherent to me.

Did someone say that when you were struggling with your bipolar more and were manic?

Somebody told me that a long time ago on a different forum.

I've never seen you incoherent. You get upset....but you're always coherent.

What exactly does coherent and incoherent mean?

Sometimes people make condescending comments like that if they disagree with you.

I think someone is incoherent if his or her speech could be described as “word salad” (words are jumbled together with no apparent meaning) or when one sentence doesn’t flow into the next.

People, including myself, aren’t always logical but that doesn’t make them incoherent. Being illogical isn’t always bad, either. We don’t want to be robots. A lot of creativity can come from the irrational and emotional part of ourselves.

You have always written in an understandable manner---even if you were angry or upset.

I guess I'm just overly emotional. A real drama queen.

When people let their emotions get the better of them they start not making any sense.

Incoherent: (of spoken or written language) expressed in an incomprehensible or confusing way; unclear.
synonyms: disordered, unclear, unintelligible, incomprehensible, hard to follow.

As you asked... you've always seemed perfectly understandable and coherent to me. Even when you've had a rant... or "gone off on one" as we say here... I've always understood your point.

Who said this anyway? If it's a so-called friend, then they're not much of a friend. If they're family, then I'm afraid you're stuck with them. I've had comments like that... file under B for belittling.

It was something a member from a video game forum said about me after I got banned, many years ago when I was 14 or 15. It stuck with me for years.

I’m sure you are a very creative person. Do you find that you frequently need a creative outlet?

There are people in forums----and in real life----who don't have your best interests at heart.

It does not mean that most people are that way. It's the Schmucks of the World who are that way.

Yeah. I do like creative and artistic stuff. I love art because it's a way of expressing in a way that words can't.

Things like that do tend to stick with one, but I’ve not witnessed any incoherency on your part. Even if you are ranting or are upset with someone, I can still follow your train of thought. If you were being incoherent, I wouldn’t be able to.

Someone once told me that I had no personality when I was in my late teens. I still think about it sometimes.

I myself have had trouble making sense of some replies that have been made by the OP, probably when he's upset. Usually it's a single sentence non sequitur statement. Non sequitur meaning, a statement that does not apply to or follow what's being discussed.

I'm not saying that as an attack. Sometimes people need to be given an honest opinion.
