Alright, this is personal and I won't say who. I've been trying to be supportive and I think other ppl have too for this person. All they're doing now is posting a lot of stupid stuff that has nothing to do with what they're going through or AS. It looks like nothing but attention grabbing and they're posting a bunch of stuff that comes out inappropriately. Does anyone else or has anyone else ever had this problem. I know it says to ignore the attention seekers but geez let other ppl post their topic and get feedback. I'm really sick of attention seekers. What's funny too is they're getting way too many replies and yet there's other ppl who have topics that are new and quickly drag down b/c of this person. I don't want to be a tattle tell as I know we all have issues but this is just annoying.

Does their name consist of 7 letters?

I agree.

I think you all are walking a fine line when you start calling people on the internet "attention seekers".

In case you have missed it, this place has a history of some pretty wild, original, and maybe even bizarre topics posted here.

I'm not sure what you see as 'attention seeking' behavior, but I'd be interested in an example just so I know for sure what you are talking about.

If this person is getting replies to their posts, perhaps the other people do not see them as attention seekers.

And what do you mean by "...way too many replies..."?

How does any thread on the internet get 'too many replies'?

I agree w/ MC, but it seems to be a pattern here, it's not just that one person.

All of us need attention from time to time.

Are you talking about me? I'm not behaving this way to seek attention. I'm going through something strange right now.

If you have a problem with my behaviour, please address me directly and I will do the best I can to make amends.

I wasn't aware I had upset anyone.

Don't jump to any conclusions yet!

I'm still not sure what they are talking about specifically... although your name DOES have 7 letters in it! 8O
But then, I'm sure we could find a whole lot of people with 7 letters in their name!

I'm deeply offended by the fact that people assume I won't react reasonably if confronted. I've been quite disturbed by my own behaviour as of late; to the extent of spending most of last night sobbing and wondering if I should ask one of the moderators if my behaviour is completely unacceptable.

I've been trying my best to make a useful contribution to the forum.

How does it come out inappropriately and how do you know it doesn't have to do with what they're going through?

Indeed. I normally don't dare to say it like this but I find myself posting excessively in various threads (I am trying to be on topic), hoping to be reacted to when I'm depressed. Does that make me an attention-seeker? Probably. Is it against the spirit of the forum? Probably not. So maybe be a bit more specific. I found that 'attention-seeking' became a catch-all for many things: spamming, hijacking, and so on - and this vexes me.

I agree with wsmac on this. An example would help wanders. :D

I'm naturaly a little interested myself, after being misunderstood and screamed at in the past. Also, in the past, I been in some threads elsewhere on the web, where the threads was turned around, negatively and away from the orignial poster, by people who only wanted to fight each other. They sure didn't care about the original poster, that's for sure. Her posting was more than fit for a place like the Haven in WP. Yet, people went in and started fighting about an entirely different topic. So badly that the thread was blocked. How did that not hurt her feelings, I mean really. That's harder to deal with than someone who comes across as rude by accident. I assume you are annoyed by someone who just seems to be rude. But, how are they doing this?
