...Getting up from a seated position is basically always?? an effort for me. My legs are so stuffed that, when I sit somewhere (which, as I said, is quite hard to do cleanly now :( ) to put my pants on, I must use my hands to lift the leg up to put it in the pants :( . I don't know if I have gotten across to you that the mail deliveries at the HSC are not a storage place, I could not leave them there and I have no place here now to take them to  !

That sounds exhausting... I'm glad you're in a place where you can get some rest, and hope they can figure out a treatment that works better! Have the meds made any difference since the ER visit?

Re: the package... Is there any possibility of asking the medical facility to allow a one-time delivery? And then you could at least go through the box, keep a few photos, and have them donate the rest to charity? The same might be possible at the HSC, but would involve you going there, which it sounds like you're not feeling up to at the moment.

In any case, I hope today is a better one!

^oops, belay that, they don't help individual people -

The California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) focuses on policy research and we are unable to assist with individual Medi-Cal cases.

I'm with you on the leg thing ASS P... more in the spirit of solidarity than of competition. I have peripheral neuropathy which has made my legs very weak, so I can't get out of a chair without heaving myself up with my arms. I've found that doing this dozens of times a day is a hell of a workout, so I have triceps like Arnie Schwarzenegger (but the rest of me... sadly... not). Sometimes I walk with a stick, but I have a tendency to trip over the ******* thing. Sometimes I think that using a stick at least warns other people to keep out of your way... but not all of them.
Best wishes anyway.

Thank you. As like Trueno said, I was mentioning it in a spirit of solidarity.

@ASS-P. I had no idea that mobility was such an issue for you. Are you in the market for a scooter?

problem with scooters is they [or their expensive batteries] are subject to theft and they require space that he doesn't have, to store it when he's not using it.

Euuurghh, I'm sorry. I hate the snow - when it started coming down Christmas Eve I'm afraid I used some bad language. Snow only looks pretty from a distance, and in Seattle it turns to crappy grey slush so fast you barely have time to appreciate the pretty.

...I meant Ezra above, not " Sara "". Yes, getting around is an effort, walking down blocks involves stopping a couple of times and leaning and catching my breath :( . Bending over to retrieve something dropped is quite difficcult  .

Hehe I like Sara. I'm only that messed up on bad days. Other days I get around okay. Your situation is a lot more serious.

...I am at a Chili's at the Capitola Mall and I"ve just ordered cheesecake and a strawberry lemonade. I came here because I missed the 7:40 bus away from here by inches - I underestimate how slow I move, especially as bloated as I am now. I didn't eat vs ae mall ery ralthily on thid trip here to-day. I don't have privacy back " home ", or the ability to watch a DVD or listen to music - I came to this Chili's because he mall has closed. and I don't ely-lit to have to hang around on the bench outstae, in a nicide 'till 9:10.
It is nice to sit on a chair and have this phone spread out in front of me,.on a nice flat table! I don't have that at " home " :x !

...To-day, I did set out to get a new ID.card.from the DMV with this voucher for a free ID card I'd got from the Homeless Health Services Project that occupies another part of the land where the Homeless Services Center is. Really, it's two parts of the same thing, but the HHSP part is just an office building, not a shelter and stuff, and is open/closed office hours, and doesn't have the locked fence around it the HSC part does. The voucher said that I was homeless
I got off of the bus just short, in fact, of the Capitola Mall. The DMV was uphill to the right
, but I was tempted by a McDonalds, and went there, and pigged out - and was seated somewhere that the dun was shining on my back. I don't get much dun at the :( rehab :( . When I finished, my bloated self walked to the DMV pretty slowly :( .p
